I stopped using Lydia. Bitch wouldn't marry me so I stuck her at home and took the awesome mage from Azura's Star quest. She packs a punch, and more importantly, her starting gear weighs like 5 stones total (whereas Lydia is like 70), so she can carry a lot more when I'm exploring.
And she busts out Atronarchs. I've beefed her up with destruction/conjuration gear, and although soemtimes she's retarded with what gear she chooses, it usually works out.
You had your chance Lydia...
Also, how did she get killed? Are you sure you didn't do the kill blow..? And I've noticed that Storm Call seems to target your companion as well, which sucks. I've had to reload a handful of times because of lightning striking my companion to death.
Anyone dying in the game is permanent as far as I know. Unless you want to count bringing them back as a zombie. I have gone through 3 companions so far because they don't know how the fuck to sneak. I was getting tired of telling them to stay the fuck back while I solo'd each dungeon with my bow sneak attacks so I let them rush in. My last companion (the moon amulet Kahjit) got completely fucking owned by that rat maniac (lolwillard) underneath the brewery... as did I. Fuck getting fireballs shot at you while in tunnels/small caves.
I do plan on doing my next run-through as a gnarly warhammer-wielding murdering maniac, full chaotic-evil... and kill everyone. I'm normally so on-edge about every good/evil decision I make because I want loot but I don't really like dabbling a little in good and a little in evil, I usually stick to one the whole way... which makes me feel like I'm missing out on a lot.
damn i dunno how your companions get killed so easily. lydia is a beast for me, and that was even before i put nice armor on her. the only annoying thing is that she gets in the way. oh and she won't wear the dragonscale boots, wtf.
also yeah anyone got an answer to my question about paralyze enchantment? any good?
I've got the slow motion zoom in perk and I fire an arrow at an enemy while sneaked from a fair distance and doesn't it die. Oh well, haven't been detected yet so I ready another arrow to finish it off. Zoom in and slow time again and I keep time slow while the arrow flies towards the mob. Then the mob pulls some fucking matrix shit and is just like moved away from the arrow while time is slowed. It was funny but it pissed me off at the same time.
The first Wispmother I ever encountered killed my Lydia a long while back. I was kinda sad about it at the time, but I just fly solo everywhere now.
did the mace of molag ball quest, was awsome.
Looking up at the pretty sky, "An aurora! Oh god.. that sound... it can only be.."
Spoiler: show
Yeah for the most part that seems to be the case. Sometimes she gets in the way of my def/atk down shout thing though I notice and if she gets hit with it she has died from mobs. So maybe under certain effects like that or poison they can be killed by mobs still.
You guys who didn't know the sprint key, there's an autorun key on "C" too FYI.
I'm using the Azura's Star priestess as well, she's a boss.
If you attack her pets by accident she will turn on you though but usually sheathing your weapon calls her off.
do you guys ever get tired of random dragon encounters now? i just wanna do my dark brotherhood quests in peace, i already have 13 dragon souls i dont need you!!!
I've noticed that every time my companion falls to critical HP, then fall down (but don't die) and the aggressive entities stop targeting them and go for me. However, I think each time my companion died, it was because of DoTs and/or explosive AoEs.
The witch/mage girl died from that fireball-shooting statue in one of the dungeons. (I wasn't even in the room)
The Whiterun guard girl died from running the long-way to me in Darklight Tower, aggroing like 3 Hagravens. (Again, I wasn't even near).
The Kahjit guy died from the skeever-maniac's fireballs. (Which were mostly aimed at me)
Fuckin' fireballs.
THE DOG NEVER DIES.
