Stealth is OP as fuck and makes the game a cake walk.
Pure mage characters are probably the toughest type to play.

For the Boethian Cult quest, is the person you need to lure to the shrine your current companion? If that is the case... I just decided I liked my current companion and decked him out in Ebony shit and I don't know where I would possibly find him again if I were to temporarily dismiss him for someone else (It's the Argonian prisoner guy Derkeethus).
Either way, nothing is happening, the quest marker places it on the shrine and I am not sure who I can lure... just a random nobody?
Spoiler: show
Thanks! Well shit... Where would I be able to find Derkeethus again if I dismissed him? I've found him to be one of the least annoying companions so far.
They usually tell you before wandering off. I'd say your house, or the place where you found him.
Derkeethus will return to Darkwater Crossing when dismissed. Coincidently, Derkeethus is currently bugged and cannot be sacrificed for that quest anyhow(I hate argonians and wanted to use him). I ended up grabbing Annekke Crag-Jumper from Darkwater Crossing and using her.
I think the stone may be picky about which companions it will actually accept. I literally tried everything with that argonian and he kept doing the same thing, saying Ok but never actually using the stone like directed. As soon as I swapped to a different companion and did the same exact thing it worked without a hitch.
Yeah, It looks like Dark Brotherhood Initiates don't work either. I went and punched Uthgerd the Unbroken in Whiterun, got her to join me and she ended up touching the pillar with no problem. Now it won't let me actually speak to the conduit... it just keeps repeating her non-conversational gibberish line... fucking game, lol.
At 80,000 gold now, almost there.. wish I hadn't bought the estate in solitude <_<
is there an achievement for gold or something?
Assuming you're playing on PC, the workaround for the sacrifice is to just bypass it entirely via console command:
player.setstage DA02 15
This will initiate the next part of the quest automatically, without having to deal with the buggy nature of the sacrifice. In other news, I really like the Elven armor mod on Nexus which gives it a white metallic/gold color scheme. Shit looks boss, especially when you combine it with the Dawnstar 1hander and Elven shield.
As a Mage the favorite system is rather cumbersome. I want to map my left and right directional keys with different builds to speed things up.
Good to play on PC though, downloaded some mods to make faces, some gear, the nightsky, moon, water look HD. I gotta be careful though, some mods can completely ruin the art direction...
I personally love the stealth character play. However, when it comes to dragons....I'm not so sure it's good. I haven't leveled my bow too much (yet) so when a dragon shows up, I just have to run and shoot as I can. Can't really stealth up on a dragon....at least I can't, lol.
Using lesser ward against the dragon breath really helped me in the beginning, it usually blocks all the damage
