I'm sincerely confused. There are Youtube videos in this thread, and the "official" youtube thread you are linking to hasn't been used in approximately 4 months (as of Jan 5 2011).

It's pretty clear he was saying that January 5, 2011 would be the 4 month mark. The thread hadn't been used in approximately 4 months.

perhaps it is a normal height light switch, but the doors and such are built to suit the needs of those two legless people

Some houses have light switches for their attics right near where the pull down staircase would be... just guessing, because i can't see the pull-down.

There are a lot of reasons to have a light switch there, an attic is one, out side applications, 'permanent applications', etc.

If they're in the basement then it is likely a furnace disconnect switch. Although it should have a red cover, somebody was careless when putting it in.
