I've been staying with my mom recently, who has Verizon DSL and I've been having problems staying connected on FFXI. Within about 5-10 minutes of logging on I start reddotting and suddenly DC, no r0 or 100%-0% just out of nowhere. I can still see what people are typing while DCing but I can't move or anything. I don't have problems like this at home with my cable so I assume its something to do with either DSL or the wireless network. I set up a Linksys WRT300N and don't have any problems with anything else besides FFXI. Her modem is a Westell 6100G if that has anything to do with it. Anyone have any idea what the problem could be?

As a temporary solution I've been tethering my droid to play a bit, but when I do this I can't browse the internet at the same time. Is it possible to have both connections active at once and only have FFXI use the droid while everything else uses the wireless?


---nm I think I have it figured out. Bridged the Westell, opened ports, things seem to be working now.
