Pakitsani newspaper published US cables that make India look bad, then later retract it after being called out for them being fake. With wikileaks already being used as propaganda I thought this was a pretty interesting cable to come out this week.

Debating whether the originality points override the fact that this is a severely bannable offense, lol.

"The Pentagon is taking matters into its own hands to prevent the occurrence of another WikiLeaks breach with removable media ban, preventing soldiers from using USB sticks, CDs or DVDs on any systems or servers. The directive prohibiting removable media followed the recent publication of more than 250,000 diplomatic cables, which were leaked to whistleblower Web site WikiLeaks at the end of last month by a military insider."

It greatly reduces the number of people that can do the leak, which makes them more at risk of being caught.

I guess its WikiLeaks day at AlJazeera English..
Apologies in that I do not know why the embedding code for youtube does not work when I try it.
If mods are bored and feel like embedding the you tubes it would be cool too.

Frost over the World - WikiLeaks and Julian Assange
    AlJazeeraEnglish | December 11, 2010

Following the arrest and imprisonment of WikiLeaks editor-in-chief, Julian Assange, his lawyer, Mark Stephens, discusses the case against him and the impact of the whistle-blowing website on world politics. Plus, as the Nobel Peace Prize is awarded to jailed dissident, Lui Xiabo, his friend and fellow activist, Yang Jainli, talks about the effect the award will have in China where the authorities have strongly opposed it - and on Mr Xiabo himself. And, Harry Shearer, the actor, comedian and voice of many of the characters in the Simpsons, talks about his new documentary, 'The Big Unease', which investigates the causes of the devastation of New Orleans when Hurricane Katrina hit the city five years ago.

Inside Story -Part 1 WikiLeaks special: Assange: hero or villain?
    AlJazeeraEnglish | December 11, 2010

Julian Assange and his whistle-blowing site WikiLeaks continue to make headlines - with daily revelations continuing, even though Assange is himself now behind bars. Is he a hero or a villain? Can he be held legally accountable? Are the revelations on his site endangering lives or are they simply embarrassing for the US government? And what of freedom of expression? Inside Story will be dealing with all these issues and more in a series of programmes over the coming week. We begin with the fundamental issue of freedom of speech and information.

Inside Story - Part 2 WikiLeaks and the craft of journalism

As Wikileaks continues to feed media outlets with thousands of classified US diplomatic cables, how serious is the threat by WikiLeaks to other media outlets? And how is WikiLeaks shaping the media industry? Is it the beginning of a new media form?

The Listening Post - The information war (Taiwan Next/New Media animation Wikileaks version at the end! @21:06)
    AlJazeeraEnglish | December 11, 2010

On the show this week: it is a multi-faceted media story that has generated myriad news strands and angles but also legal complications. At the centre of it all is WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange. He has become the human face of an information war that has left free speech activists on one side and cagey politicians on the other. The fight has drawn in some unlikely participants, from credit card companies to Swedish lawyers. Its uncharted waters for the media - some had to report the story while defending their coverage. It is an uncertain future for politicians who are desperately trying to shut down the website while putting out diplomatic fires across the globe. It is a moral dilemma for those who question the right to information over the danger of too much information. It is a lot of things, but mostly - it is a fascinating story!

I would like to second the concept of unusual banning terms however.
