Pretty sure Ive seen differences above 3 as well. Maybe its because hes been doing it at such low ranks, hitting some kind of cap? I could be mistaken myself though.

There might be a cap on the mobs based on rank vs level difference on leves, but I don't think there is a link cap. But if there is, it's larger than 3.
Makes sense, I think I've noticed that outside leves as well. 206SP with a full alliance killing everything under the sun, regardless of level.
I just tested this on Rank 30 leves, Also did not increase SP after the 3rd link.
It cannot be dependant on level or mob level or level rank because its 3 links for rank 1-10-20-30.
Go test yourself, you will get identical results.
I will post screenshots soon to backup my claim. Just need to redo as my filters are not setup properly for a good screenshot.
Thanks, appreciated~
Is it possible max links is determined by leve difficulty?
Hey guys I took information from here and sources in the game and other places and made a write up of how I think current SP is working. Credit is not mentioned but it is due to some people here and I want to say thank you for allowing me to think about this. If any is wrong or has discrepencies let me know... It is not meant for sub L25 leveling gains so those may also vary a lot compared to what I have written up.
So I was thinking about this a lot and from what people have told me, videos of xp trains, and some personal experience I have come with a model that fits. I'll start with the basics:
Physical Experience
Physical Experience is always 250% of the Skill Points you gain, or looking at it from the other side, you always gain 40% of your Physical Experience as Skill Points.
There is only 1 exception, and that is Guardians Favor (which turns those %'s into 166.6% and 60% respectively).
Proof/Example: Video of a 8 man team fighting Skeletal Soldiers and gaining 331phys, and 133sp. Highest level was 33. Personal experience of 2 man L43 team fighting Skeletal Soldiers gaining 372phys, and 149sp. If they gave a static Physical, or scaled on level the 33s would gain the same, if not more, than the 43s and this is not the case.
This means that Physical Experience is also influenced by "Party Bonus" experience.
Innate Mob XP vs Level
This section is about how "quickly" mob's experience points they yield degrades. This really can only be applied 24+ as experience is inflated at lower levels (and probably degrades quicker than it does in the later levels). Since 1-24 is now pretty much a day or 2 of work I have little interest in figuring out what that rate is.
Mob's experience value's awarded degrade at 5% per level, rounded down.
There are several examples to be cited to show this, first we must find out what level the mobs are solo. Lets assume that bare bottom green is your level, and there are 3 "sets" of green check a mob can be, 3 of yellow, and 2 of orange. This means the lowest red check mob can be 8 levels above your character.
I have found in 2 instances where red mobs were surrounded by their yellow counterparts and have gained 140 and 137 SP from them (different mobs, and I was a 41 and 43 in the cases) so I assume if a mob is around 8 levels above me I should gain around 140 SP.
I have been told that certain red mobs solo have been known to give around 200 SP solo, when I checked which mobs these were they are assumed to be higher than 8 levels, actually closer to 15 level gap range knowing those peoples levels. (Mob levels according to YG)
Now I was killing sets of green mobs as I leveled up from 43 to 44 and noticed that SP values dropped from 98,95,92 to 94,91,(lost track it turned to a blue mob). This deviated from what someone told me (that XP drops 10% when you level up each time) so it was quite interesting.
Now we have 3 sets of values to line up to the 5% floor, here is the basic chart to use:
80-100: -4
100-120: -5
120-140: -6
140-160: -7
160-180: -8
180-200: -9
200-220: -10 - etc
Lets work from 205 to 137, it should take about 7 jumps to reach (difference between 8 and 15).
205, 195, 186, 177, 169, 161, 153, 144, 137 --- 7 jumps
How about 137 to 91? This should be around another 8 jumps. (difference between 8 and 0)
137, 131, 125, 119, 114, 109, 104, 99, 95, 91 --- 9 jumps
We could assume now that 1 green is -1 your level, one green is your level, and the 3rd green is +1 level though we don't need to get into the very exact levels as well as my example isn't using the same mob.
*Note There are some mobs that seem to reward abnormal experience and do not follow this (Diremites 120%, Skeletons 150%, and a few others)
Party "Bonus"
As with Surplus, Party "Bonus" now is a term for lowering XP gains rather than raising it like it had done previously. I honestly didn't care much about it but with my thinking about SP degredation and seeing hypothesis on forums I came up with something that is reliable if you do not have people outside the bonus range.
Base B: 50% SP gained if you killed the mob solo
1 Member: B + B*.8
2 Member: B + B*.6
.
.
.
X Member: B + B*.2 <--- Absolute Base
The Absolute Base is what exists when you have a sufficient party, everyone will be gaining 60% of what you get from killing the mob solo. Imo bonus is in reference to experience you receive additionally (bonus) to 50% of what you kill, and like Surplus it only ever goes down. (flooring at 10%).
It seems if you are also in a party thats not bonus linked you go straight to the 60%.
Example:
L39 CNJ + 42 GLD killing 40-50ish Toad. GLD gains 164.
L15 THM + 42 GLD killing 40-50ish Toad. THM gains 260, GLD gains 98.
I currently have no information about how members that aren't inside party bonus work in a group larger than 2
This means past the last member that lowers experience, additional members have no effect... why have 8 killing for the same xp that 15 would get!?
Also it explains why the highest XP you seem to get is around 120-150 in parties... its because mobs 20 levels higher than you carry around 270 SP when soloed, and these are around the highest level gap thats possible to defeat (start to hit too hard, take too little, etc).
270 * .6 = 162, though you'd typically fight something closer to 15-18 levels higher or 210-240 XP solo and 126-144 party XP instead of 20 levels higher in a party... or even 12-15 if you want a decent pace (100-130s per kill)
The color the mob checks in the party has nothing to do with it, nor is there any "cap" on mob color checks. (we gained 172 off a Evil Eye in a party of 3 in Mordana... checked red solo, blue group which would have been 215 solo) But it seems its the basic facts of mobs innate skill handouts per level are terribly small, and the SP decay is very slow... having it slow helps soloing a lot as you can kill the same mobs forever and not take huge hits per level gained. (note people fighting Peridot Doblyns from 36 to 50)
Leve's
Currently Leve mobs also award more experience for their level than world mobs... the only thing I will comment on in this section is linking and power leveling.
You can link up to 3 leves, and the bonus seems to be 20-30% per link, and something similar per Star difficulty. The main reason behind this is to stack Guardians Aspect so you can save it by doing more rewarding leves. (Linking 1 or doing 2 of the same.... time saver vs less xp)
Power leveling works because even after only gaining 60% of what you gain Solo with the bonus multipliers of Stars/Aspect/Possible link you would have gained over 2000 XP solo off that one mob and its very easy for a high level to solo it (at least the L20s). Thus capping you at 998 which seems to be the current top gain.
Linking and doing 5 stars in higher level parties also seems to be lucrative though much more difficult to organize is the main draw back (and people don't like running).
What SE Needs to Change in the Current System
-Increase mob innate SP give out. Such as changing mobs you solo for 215 to 500.
-Increase rate at which SP decays from 5% to 15%. This forces people to move onto new mobs solo after a few levels, and groups to stay only a few levels on the same mob.
-Or scratch those 2 suggestions and make Party Bonus progressive instead of regressive, but only work if you are fighting mobs 5+ levels higher than you.
There are many fixes, but I doubt it will be anytime soon before we see any. Well thanks for reading and these are the mechanics I think from personal observation, forums, and what other people tell me that I think is happening in the game right now. Any additional data that supports or disproves these would be appreciated as even though soloing or duoing is what I currently do, its nice to know exactly how they are working this =)
Great post if this is all true. Surprised no one has commented yet!
I know you said 24+, but going from Rank 19 - 20 off Lead Coblyn & Syrphid Swarms i noticed a dramatic drop in SP/EXP at this point.Mob's experience value's awarded degrade at 5% per level, rounded down.
R19 they would always give between 70-110~ SP
R20 is like the cut off point as the SP dropped to 45-65~
Coblyns yielding the most SP over Swarms.
Good work #285
Big ups BlackDreamr, really good stuff!
This is a 100% positive false, because when I was testing caps for the rank 1-20 I would do Legion, 30's would depend on mobs so sometimes 1star, sometimes 3star, sometimes legion. Wouldn't change cap.
This sounds about right, on my 35 Conjurer I was 1 shotting Quartz Doblyns and they gave about 100sp if orange (level 45) or 120sp if red (level 49) which is 10-14 levels higher, just like you said. So I can backup your theories.
Has anyone else noticed a huge drop in SP when adding a 2nd member? I was soloing in Copperbell Mines on Dobylns as a r41 Conjurer getting about 72-89 a kill. When I added a 37 MRD it dropped down to 36 a kill. I've never seen this much of a drop.
Not sure what happen to you there. But I was just duoing with a friend r42 CON and i'm 38 gla. I was getting 78-94 and he was getting 70ish. Did you only try one mob mabye that had already taken damage and then just give up or something?? You were both within the party bonus limits so you should not have been reduced that much.
Sigh, I just don't get why this is so hard to understand.
Its surprisingly close, enough so that its fairly accurate. I don't think I've had too many experiences in max Bonus parties or no Bonus but I know its over 50%, and the lowest % I've seen lately was 65% (1 Bonus Link, 1 out of level range in 3 party -- based on Leve mobs). 90 and 80 are the first 2 members decreases too I know for sure.
So in any case the bottom is between 55-65%, its fairly easy to test at least I just figured it was close enough (as I stated knowing the party experience was less of a concern for me).
Also I stated the cap knowing 998 was the highest I ever had heard of, that's interesting to note then that there is no cap.
Any suggestions on where to go with a group of 4-6 ranks 29-34 for most efficient SP/hr?
