c key being unresponsive

It was working fine until a few mins ago and now when I press the c key, it doesn't do anything. I have to hold it down for a few secs, get a bunch of c's and delete the rest.

Also doesn't work in compliance with other keys atm. (like I have to do caps lock to get a capital C), as it's not working with shift.

Any clue as to what's up and how to fix it?

I'd just replace the keyboard but this is on my laptop -.-

What kind of laptop is it? Have you checked to see if its dirty (removed the key and the spring mechanism if possible)? Have you checked the device manager to see if its working properly? Does your laptop have a keyboard proprietary software? Have you checked the ease of access/accessbility keyboard settings?

Most laptop keyboards are replaceable if its really broken.

yea, I removed the key. Was a little dirty but even w/ the key off and pressing the little rubber knub, was still getting the same results. Put some compressed air to it, no change.

I use the onscreen keyboard quite a bit when I'm laying down (since my laptop is propped up on a crate) and using my external monitor, but I've never fiddled w/the settings

And then it randomly works on and off

ccCCccCCccCC working now. couldn't get it to work just now though for capital C to start that sentence. Though this is better than usual. To do what I just did at the start of this I would have to have turned caps lock on and off a bunch of times. First time I've gotten it to work with shift in a couple days

Found a wireless keyboard from someone else's computer in the house.

C is working properly when hooked up to my computer.

ccc CCC using it now to type this.

If I hold shift on this wireless keyboard and hold C on my laptop keyboard, success. If I hold shift on my laptop's keyboard and hold C on this one, it also works.

When I try to hold shift and C on my laptop's keyboard, nothing. The c key in general is working a little better than yesterday. I'm getting response of it, but sometimes I still have to press it multiple times and sometimes I'll get multiple c's from pressing it one, making me have to go and bacckspace (lol when I was typing that word just now it didn't work at all the first time I pressed it. erased to before the k and tried again and got 2)

I an't believe i'm not the only one that broke his key. I used to use it all the time to opy/paste. Now I have to lick with my mouse, shit's in redibly annoying. I miss my key

Well, remapped my keyboard and been using another key for C for a long ass time now, so had no problems with it, but now the g key is doing the same thing.

Still under warranty till July so it looks like I'm just gonna have to say fuck it and send the thing in and be w/o a computer for a few weeks.

Well will be a big deal for me since I have terrible eyesight and can't afford to get an eye exam/glasses. Usually just pull up the power point and follow along on my laptop (+ doing all my homework and shit, since this is the only personal computer I have access to, I'd have to go to the library or something for anything else).

As well as my communication. I don't have a phone, so google voice, email, and facebook are the only ways to get a hold of me.
