    60GB SSD enough for Windows+WoW?

Looking at my SSD's, I'm running 2x 40's in Raid0, and I've used up about 61.5gb of it with 2games, windows, and a couple apps.

I'm looking to get my sister an SSD, probably: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820227542 but am worried that OS+WoW+a couple apps might be cutting it close. Like within 5gb or less.

Should I bump up to a higher GB drive? That SSD is one of the few with 5eggs so thats why I chose it.

Easily. I've got two computers running little other than Windows 7 and FFXI, one on a 40GB drive and one on a 30GB drive. WoW is a few GB bigger than FFXI so I wouldn't recommend trying to squeeze it onto a 30GB, but 60 is way more than enough for someone who knows better than to store stuff on it.

Excellent. Looking around a bit more, found a kingston 64gb for 135 with a MIB making it 95, also comes with brackets and shit.

Normally I stay away from that brand, but it's got a pretty high rating considering it's kingston. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820139133

edit: what confuses me is I just reformatted my SSD's this week, literally nothing on them but OS/WoW/COD/antivirus/itunes/firefox, if I subtract the 8gb of COD, I'd have 53.5GB used. That seems like way too much, and her drive would be set up probably identically. Guess i should bump up to the 60+ range just to be safe.

edit: lol fucking mobile apps from itunes is like 3gb, so I counted like 43. No idea where those other 10gb are.

    Yah you should be fine

The Kingston is a decent drive, actually.

I personall have Intel's but even those are being surpassed in the speed market nowadays. I have no complaints though with 2 Intel 80gb's in a RAID0. If anything, I rarely hear bad things about the Intel drives.. They have a 40gb drive also. The write speed is horrid and the read again not the highest on the market (It's also there low end model drive) but the stability of Intel, I like. You really aren't going to be writing to a SSD constantly anyways, especially not one that is a boot drive for the most part and if you are, you're an idiot.

I have a 60gb SSD with windows 7. It will work, but its a royal PITA, I wouldn't get less than 80 minimum, 120 recommended

I have no problems with my 2x 40's in raid0 with 2 huge games on the drive plus pretty much all apps. Just thought I'd be cutting it close even with minus one game, but the kingston 64gb is a good price and should suffice.

Wow is roughly 26 gigs alone for me. After cataclysm comes out next week, expect the number to be somewhere over 30. Windows 7 home I believe took up roughly 15 gigs, so right there you're looking at 40-50 gigs.

I was really looking at that kingston too, but after thinking on it some I thought it best to wait for a deal on a 80+ drive. Hopefully they will be coming soon. 7 just takes up too much space...

Welp I went to buy the kingston today and it was out of stock. Although, I heard they are bad with rebates.

Back to my original http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820227542 60gb, hopefully it's enough. I have roughly 10gb free out of my 74.5, -8 more for COD, -4 from my users folder (fucking itunes apps) = 52.5gb used. The 60 should be just right.

The fucking price went up on that OCZ. I'm looking at these 2 SSD's right now:

    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820227542 121.99 after MIB
    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820250001 $120

The OCZ supposedly is a bit faster, but I get those 4gb of space out of the WD and the comfort of having a WD. My sister isn't a power user, like I said just OS+1Game+A few Apps... any suggestion on which?

I'd go w/ the WD just based on not having to deal w/ a rebate. OCZ's rebate dept isn't anything inpressive, unless it's changed from the past.

If the assholes didn't up the price within the past few hours then I'd deal with the rebate.

It's NewEgg, they are notorious for floating prices...

    I bought this NIC

    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...=killer%202100

It used to be 129.99 - When I bought it 3 weeks ago it was 89.99 - 3 days later it was 69.99 - The day after that it was 72.50 - You see the price now.

    So, yah...
