Question about acquiring agent's names (to sell screenplay)

So, I'm not sure exactly how many people here actually have any experience with this whatsoever...
I have a screenplay for a film I'm going to try and sell. I need to send a query letter to some (a lot) of agents. I've got a list of quite a few agencies addresses and phone numbers, but I need the names of the specific agents in the agency to address the letter to as well.

Now, from what I can tell from about a day's worth of internet searching, I have 2 ways of doing this. Either I buy a directory for 80some dollars, or I call up all those agencies and ask for the names of the agents there.
I'm wondering if there is any other easier, cheaper and/or less time consuming process to take to get this done.

    Should this be in General?

Buy the directory, it's the best 80 bucks you're ever going to spend if you're considering doing this seriously. It's what I did when I published my book earlier this year, and now I have it for a screenplay that I'm finishing up in a few weeks and going to shop around. Don't halfass it. Do your research and spend what you need to spend on those books because they're a gold mine of information.

yeah, definitely not halfassing this. Ive had the script done for like 3 months now. Gone over it dozens of times. Took a week just to come up with a tagline for the query letter.
I just don't have the $80 for it atm and was hoping that someone had the directory list online somewhere. Ended up buying an issue of Call Sheet which says it has an up to date listing of agents though. Had to order it online though as the bookstore near me didn't carry it.

When I saw this blogpost it reminded me of this post here, in case anyone's interested. Scriptshadow has a deal going on with Tracking Board right now for a year sub for $44.25 until Jan 10th.

The site is invaluable for writers to keep a gauge on what ideas are selling, what ideas aren't, and it's a great way to make sure someone hasn't already written that masterpiece you were preparing to spend the next two years of your life on.

The site also keeps you updated on job openings (i.e. a personal assistant job for a producer, assistant at an agency), new project attachments, TV pilot happenings, festival info, private screenings, and a whole bunch of other stuff.
