I think it's partially because I went Horde after I was already as geared as I could be on my ex-realm and had gemmed/geared my haste values to be pretty much perfect as-is (perfect number of lightning bolts between each LvB pre-patch, heroism put me at exactly 1s casts, etc), but it's certainly gained even more benefits since we're no longer as dependent on # of LBs between each LvB. Lava Surge and Fulmination has made ele shaman a joy to play (and I was a huge fan even before the patch, lol). In any case, I'm leaving both orc and the possibility of troll behind soon as Cata drops. I already got my race change queued up, and am ready to be a cute, little goblin chicklet! :D

I've tried to play Alliance multiple times, however I just cannot get into it.

Surprisingly I really do play this game primarily for its lore because I find it interesting. Every part of me cannot stand Varian and most of the people on Alliance. Gnomes piss me the fuck off, Dwarves are just a bigger version of Gnomes, and Humans are like Super Saiyan Gnomes. Not to mention they have retarded stances (no offense).

As for Horde, I always admired Thrall simply because he may be a bad ass, but he's more restrained from what it seems than any other racial leader. I also love where the storyline is going introducing Garrosh and all that jazz. Also, I've felt as if Horde is pretty much the minority, and its more challenging to play as Horde... though on my server, its no longer the case with players coming back to play.

Also Night Elves are far from appealing. Draenei are somewhat ok, but their storyline is the definition of being flamboyant.

agree, thank god the worgen can add some much needed savagery and badassness into the alliance. Maybe if blizzard ever gets around to redoing character models into worgen quality that will help also. Worgen are just badass.

I love Draenei so much it hurts. But if storyline matters, I will always always recommend Horde over Alliance. I mean, I know some people who are QQing about how Blizz must "hate horde" for making two of their leaders asshats now (Garrosh + Sylvanas going all LK-y), but their storylines are still far more compelling than any Alliance faction leader. In my opinion. I like Velen a lot, but there's not a lot of story to tell. I just like him 'cause he's all "PEACE TO EVERYONE DON'T FIGHT NOOOO RUN AWAY LOL."

Eff that noise. Sylvanas is the number one reason I play Horde. I love the fact that she has a "don't give a fuck" attitude about almost everything unless it concerns the Forsaken. As far as Garrosh is concerned, its definitely an interesting twist.

Hopefully they find a way to incorporate Lor'themar into the game some how...

At least Garrosh is learning to be a leader (see Stonetalon quests) while Sylvanas has pretty much turned into a genocidal, female cross between the Lich King and Varian. No redeeming qualities there, she's just bent on doing to everyone what Arthas did to her.

Everything I've seen of her she's defending her people, in any way she can. Garrosh wanted her to attack Gilneas, otherwise she wouldn't have gone there, she's fortifying the Undercity and taking back Lordaeron lands for the Forsaken, because the Forsaken people are the Lordaeron people. I haven't done all the quests, but what is she doing that's more than this?

Her indiscriminate use of the plague is to say the least, worrying. Her inclusion of Valkyr in her armies is equally worrying, considering they too were the enemy of the Forsaken during the ICC raid. She would have all of her new subjects be 100% unwilling participants, making her a tyrant.

They're intelligent scourge without a leader, sort of like Sylvanas was, and they can bolster the forsaken's population because as it stands if one dies, they just -1, and can't make new ones atm (unless you count abominations, but I don't think they should count at all). As for plague usage, that's less of a worry if it got toned down from what it originally became in wrath (destroy all kill all fuck the living fuck the dead etc), which quests seem to indirectly indicate it has (or NPCs are pimp, and LK and Bolvar just have shitty fortitude).

Other note on Val'kyr. Spoilers from... something, I think, not 100% sure how spoilery it is, if you don't read the books or wowpedia etc.

    Spoiler: show
Didn't she get killed at some point after the events of Wrath, and Garrosh told the Val'kyr, since they were already there, to bring her back, and died in the process? That way Sylvanas was more convinced they're willing to truly work for the Horde and the Forsaken? Edit: Or see quote

The plague that Sylvanas is using is a direct result of the experiments performed by Putress, including the events of the Wrathgate. The plague is horribly indiscriminate and her general demeanor is duplicitous. Garrosh didn't tell her to attack Gilneas, she did it without his consent and even sent couriers back to lie to him about what she was up to.

Where's the source that says the plague she uses in the siege of Gilneas is a watered down version of what Putress used at Wrathgate? I'm aware of no Folgers Coffee switch between the events.

You wouldn't know that though because you've demonstrably never picked up a book nor educated yourself on the matter. Let me guess, overweight housewife?

No source, this is based on WPL quest, you 'plague' a farm, and NPCs dont immediately die or anything interesting, they're just disoriented. I grant it could be for quest flow purposes.

I maintain my stance that the Val'kyr are valid though.

Edit: Although the Horde did ban it, they gave some apothecaries a weaker version of the blight, which wouldn't be so destructive.

    I guess that explains that!

Have you run SFK as a horde character yet? It's pretty clear that the plague they are using is really, REALLY bad and Garrosh doesn't want it being used at all.

I'd like to see Garrosh be fleshed out; I can buy him as an underdog. Though he's got some 'splainin' to do, cause right now I detest him.

...though I giggled when he called Sylvanas a bitch.

    Amazing.
I am on the fence about Garrosh. First he seems all bloodthirsty kill everyone fuck the world, and then I did the stonetalon quest lines and he seems all tree huggery.
