BG Real Life advice

But I'm still asking for career advice, and everyone just keeps berating me for not being in the perfect situation to be a parent. I'm well aware I'm not in the best situation for this, but there are plenty of examples of people who have been in a similar situation and done perfectly fine as parents. My ex-fiance's parents for example, first kid came during college, they both had to drop out and get jobs to support them, they had no outside support at all. That kid was building websites and funded his own way through college, 4.0 student, excellent athlete. All their kids graduated college, are now married, and successful. Everyone here would've berated them non-stop for it though!

Any other good classified websites out there? I check craigslist, on with monster and check my local newspaper. Anywhere else that might work?

Dude, that's all fine and dandy that all of these other fairy tale stories came true, but you need to treat this like it's real life. Sure, if someone else can do it, so can you. You still need a plan. You should be planning right now, not job hunting on shitty websites like Monster. Drive around and look for help wanted signs, yeesh.

Finally, they've given you career advice. Join the military. You can get education funding, practically free health care, and you can get a degree in any field anywhere you want. If that's not what you're looking for (you can always join the air force reserves, chances of you going anywhere are like nil) then you go back to step 1. Decide on a career field. If you cannot find a job in that field, then find an interim job that allows you to build experience and a resume so that you can get a job in that field.

I didn't start out in lab work. I didn't even start going to college or the medical school I go to until I was 25 (your age). This was 4 years ago. The only place that would hire me was a Sears and even then that was part time seasonal work. I had to bust my ass to stay on after the holidays were through. Now I have a job that pays me about $16-17 an hour for night shift work and I manage an apartment with about $1200/mo in expenses that are ultimately paid for partly by my income and the rest is my financial aid check. I also still work at Sears earning a measly $8/hr that pays for gas and some groceries. I also have a girlfriend that goes to school full time and works almost full time and has to bust her ass to save for college.

If you factor in my situation to yours, you have FAR more to worry about than I do, and far more work, and I work part time and earn more than my father who works full time. My girlfriend doesn't have fibro, doesn't have any disabilities, and still works for a living as well. Yours does not.

Use your brain.

Your best bet is to try and get some kind of menial work at a higher education institution. Even if it's hourly, they might offer tuition remission so you can work on getting a degree.

Here's your career advice: you have no career.

Nobody wants to hire you because you have never been able to hold a steady job for very long. You don't have any education worth speaking of. You don't have a good work ethic. There are no jobs for you. Certainly not any that would provide you with not only the money to support yourself, but also to support a child and a charity-case girlfriend.

You have no hope.

None.

Nobody wants to hire you.

Stop thinking that there is even the remote possibility that someone somewhere will know of something.

You cannot go down this route and expect anything except dismal failure.

Ya, he didn't decide on abortion because it's the best choice for his situation, he decided on abortion because he found out his girl would have to quit her fibro med's for the pregnancy; she would go on a 9 month homicidal rampage and the op would prefer to keep his nuts intact

Actually no, I learned that because of her medication, the baby has an increased chance at being birthed with a disability of some kind(since she's still been on them and baby is apparently up to 5 weeks in already). It's possible to fix financial issues and I have no problem loving the child enough, but a baby knowingly born with a mental defect is a good reason to have an abortion, because that cannot be fixed. I will not endanger the well-being of the child in that way.

Which is why this thread has been somewhat helpful in some respects. I've been working on fixing it for a while, baby means I need to work harder, so I try to find information where ever I can, like BG. I'm still filling out applications and sending in resumes.
