Prison guard, go for state, not fed/local, and given a choice choose a men's prison over women's.

Also, Uncle Sugar is always hiring for the Armed Forces and comes with benefits (medical, dental, education, housing, food allowance). Be aware you'd need to be married to enlist since they won't take you if you have someone knocked up who is not your spouse (unless this has changed in the past 10 yrs). I assume you're aware of the assorted wars being fought now. You can assume you will be deployed if you sign up as a grunt, medic, etc. Sign up for a guaranteed job as a computer programmer or operator if you qualify and would want to do that. Use the educational benefits and walk away with 4-6 yrs of experience and a degree behind you.

Hasn't been posted yet, and I'm disappointed in BG because I know some of you fuckers thought it immediately.

    Also: UPS and whatnot.

You should have her make an appointment at your local planned parenthood or whatever women's clinic is close to you. Shouldn't cost anything to get a real pregnancy test to confirm. Sometimes the store-bought pee tests can give false positives. I know you said her last period was 5 weeks ago or so, but it doesn't hurt to be 100% sure.

A lot of retail jobs will be hiring right now for only seasonal help; however sometimes a store will keep an employee or two after the holidays if they are good workers. In any case, I'd recommend avoiding a retail job to support a child unless you can pull off a management position.

Manual labor jobs are usually pretty easy to land and will provide with decent benefits. State jobs etc.

P.S. If it were me, I'd just abort. You're obviously young and not prepared for this sort of thing. I dunno if you're fully aware of what you're getting yourself into.

So basically what you're asking here is how to bring a child into the world without any means to support it? Fuck you. Go get it aborted, you selfish twat.

I find it hard you got denied by UPS or FedEX...

This is about to be their busiest month and here soon enough you will probably hear commercials on the radio about them hiring people for the XMas rush...

    Try harder

Actually if you read, it's about how to acquire the means to support it.

We're both morally against abortion, not because of any religious beliefs, but just not a fan of it.

First job application (at a bank) gets a computer error (on their side) to it. Excellent sign!

If all else fails, get married and then join the military. Live on base. That way all your money can go directly towards the child and your family.

You wouldn't know that though because you've demonstrably never picked up a book nor educated yourself on the matter. Let me guess, overweight housewife?

I hate to suggest it but...join the military?

They'll pay for everything and you can get a good education out of it for free.

It's a sucky thing to have to do but if you are serious about keeping the kid when you fucked up, sacrificed have to be made sometimes.

My dads girlfriend works at the postal service. Business is dying. Aside from the government forcing jobs to be there for no reason but to spend endless amounts of money, that's not a promising place to go.

I have some power tool experience, my dad is a construction worker and I help him out with stuff all the time. I'm not very good with the power tools, but I can measure and shit just fine.

Under UPS's new contract with the union, you don't get medical benefits until after a year of employment, so don't bank on that. Manual labor jobs are going to be your best bet for entry level work, or clerical work at an office.

On a related note, don't be that guy. You don't have a job, don't have any real skills, and your life is probably just starting out. Don't fuck up the rest of your life because of a kid with a girl you've only known for a few months, because guess what? Even if you find a job to support your new family, you're not going to be able to stop working it, not going to be able to go to school, and have fucking jack shit for free time. Chances are, your life will suck, you will have a shitty relationship with your girl due to the stress of the whole situation, and you will be stuck with an 18 year long commitment you are in no way shape or form prepared to honor. This isn't something you can back out of, or change your mind on in a few years.

So once again, please, don't be that guy. Don't bring another kid into this world who's going to have a shitty home life, and ruin your life in the process. There are too many kids, and too much misery in this world for you to knowingly do this.

Just keep in mind anything law enforcement/prison guard type job can take a few months to get you in, depending on how quickly they get through your background check. To give you an idea, with my job with the Sheriff, I got hired in april of last year contingent on passing my background, and that wasn't wrapped up till the beginning of september. Our agency though is one of the more strict ones out there vs the rest of the bay area, so it may not be as bad, but keep it in mind. And for the love of god, if you do go through a background check, don't lie or try to hide something, they will find it, and they will use it as a means to get rid of you. Only reason my position I have was open was due to an idiot who lied on his background about finishing college, when in actuality he only had a few credits done before dropping out so they had to reopen the application and hiring process.

Planned Parenthood has all kinds of programs that can help, especially if she's uninsured, that would allow her to get pregnancy care for free. Please look into this. You didn't make the thread asking if you should keep the baby so I'm not sure why people are offering opinion on that; you're the best judge of your situation and willingness to care for the child. If you are willing to commit to this, do it all the way. Marry her. Your best bet for providing for her is by joining the military.

This is probably the best bet. It sucks I know but it's what you have to do. I know you probably don't want to be married but just think of it like this, the military won't extend your benefits if you aren't married, and like it was said before probably won't even accept you. But it's 100% guaranteed work plus you get all your crap paid for.

Joining the military won't be an option. I'm going to be the main caretaker of the child. My girl has fibromyalgia and is either sleeping or incapable of moving without lots of pain some days on a non-routine schedule.

We're reconsidering abortion, going to head to Planned Parenthood in a bit.

KST, you made a good post, totally the reason I'm reconsidering it.

I love how he is asking for opinions on how to best take care of the child and there are people in this thread suggesting he have it aborted.

Obviously he is taking responsibility for his mistake, so I don't think his worry right now is how he will have to stay with this girl he's known for X months.

edit: Fibromyalgia? How the hell did you even have pleasurable sex in the first place? I'm not one to talk about abortions but this early in your girl's life and in the pregnancy you might be better off aborting it for her safety.

What can I do to get a solid job, fast?
Go work a street corner and deal drugs. You seem to have what it takes.
