I would honestly be flipping a shit at your insurance company. You pay them obscene amounts of money every month for full coverage on your car just so you don't have to worry when something like this happens. You are, at the very least, entitled to a rental car when you're the victim of an accident. The fact that your adjuster hasn't responded to your calls a full FOUR DAYS after the accident is unacceptable. My company (NJ Manufacturers) guarantees a claim filed within 24 hours and I'm pretty sure the big companies like Allstate have similar policies. If you really need a rental I would keep calling until someone gives you an acceptable solution. If they cant find your adjuster, do what Aurik suggested and demand someone else.

Seriously insurance is something you pay out the ass and rarely use, if you don't get taken care of on the rare occasion that you do need it, it's useless.

Yeah, seriously - send it up the ladder, fuck an adjuster. Get a manager, supervisor on the phone, whatever, don't hang up until they promise to pay for the car you're about to rent.

Progressive. If I don't get in touch with him tomorrow, I'll have at it over the phone. For whatever reason, the adjuster is calling me from London, KY...about 300 miles and four hours away. You'd think they'd have local people handle this shit.

Crap, I'm with Progressive too. Now I'm going to have to review my coverage and make sure that auto rental is included. I will say that I had to put in a claim to get a cracked windshield replaced and that was all handled smoothly so they're not all bad...
