It might have something to do with the fact most of Red Mage's cure potency gear barring staff comes from either an Campaign Op that's never open, mini-expansions most people labeled shitty, or are R/Ex.

Magian trial for a 20% staff and the serpentes armor set will get you +25%. That's before you even look at roundel/fylja/pants/head piece. If you can't be bothered with even that much, then seriously gtfo of a job which can cure.

Which is 15% more than a Light staff would net you. It's a nice boost, but it's not changing the general tier of the cure, or providing a second recast timer to work with/etc.

The full set mentioned is 8-10M or so in buyables (at least on my server) plus redoing expansion items just for potency. It's kind of easy to see why more RDMs (that couldn't just swap to WHM) wouldn't have that.

You don't Cure IV(which, without Lightsday, is only ~550, not 600) for more than a WHM's Cure V(which does ~600 naked at level 61) unless they're doing so in a Dark Staff. Even then, its a bit of a stretch. Exaggeration doesn't make Cure IV any less of a joke inside of Abyssea.

Sure the case probably only came about by dark proc negatively influencing their cure and not effecting mine.... I also might have been comparing my best to their worst... but as far as my memory recalls (which could be completely incorrect) it happened.

As for the semicolons, I will (honestly) try and look more into their proper usage. I'm a coder, i put semicolons at the end of everything!

Ok then what other atma besides minikin should a RDM be using in abyssea?
If its NM farming using Beyond or baying moon does too much damage to cycle all the grellow procs. Exping would be double refresh (1 night on rdm to get it from old to new cap)
+MP +MND -Enmity seems like a viable atma for curing tanks and keeping your own hate low.

In contrast, I see the hate against DRKs, RDMs, SAMs, or whomever else looking for a bone as nothing more than believing everything they've read on a forum and using their head to make other things work is too difficult.

Updates are meant to bring us new stuff. Everyone wants new and useful stuff. The DD rat race will never end, sure, but that doesn't mean jobs can't be expanded in other ways... kind of like the THF TH thing we'll be getting. Tactical Parry for DRK and Shield Mastery for RDM, however, aren't exactly what many have considered new or useful for obvious reasons.

Would be cool if we got a store TP and/or WS damage atma. That might really make things interesting. I've given up on my SAM for the time being due to not getting head/leg seals to drop as well as being stuck on the VNM part for the masamune line for several months.
