Probably. On Leviathan at least, JP scum have become a royal pain in the ass.For all I know, maybe a comparatively laid-back Japanese playerbase is the only unique thing Asura has going for it.

gimps getting nice things; not the first time i've seen it, and it surely won't be the last
Walk of Echoes is a hive of scum and villainy unless you get the zone to yourself. I wish I'd screenshotted any of the instances where I screamed drunkenly at my computer to contribute, but a few days ago was a WHM lotting on everything that dropped from slimes, oils and juices included. Didn't cast anything aside from Cure 4 and generally was the worst kind of player. Didn't check gear but looked like full Blessed.
I see them again, I'll get a picture.

That is so perfect lol. Brickwall and ls name ShortYellowBus.
yea at the rate it's been going (9/30 glory, sub-casual), i probably could've done briareus 50/50 and nearly did sobek 100% already (24 skins just chilling without even trying), but part of me feels as if it's the right thing to do by getting tobi +2 first so i can hi like a bawce as i solo briareus and whatnot =/
Does that part of you feel like redoing all the pre-abyssea NMs again too?
I actually did the same thing, and it wasn't as bad. Admittedly, great axe has a bit of an easy path.
I never even planned on seriously going back to WoE but a shellmate asked for some help clearing mobs for his hand-to-hand and I ended up getting two pouches of glory in my personal box at the end. I ended up eighteen coins further towards a second weapon than intended. Now I just have the tedious task of redoing the same sets of VNMs twice.
Still, if you've got the time on your hands to finish the WoE weapon before a proper Empyrean, the weaponskill is a very pleasant tease of things to come.
Edit: This is actually my third time (and god willing, my last) through this tree. First for Maschu, then again for Bau...Baude... the sword, and I'm sitting on a Bonesplitter waiting for Glavoid shells.
I do try and be friendly, for example.
If they are fighting an NM I want before proceeding to attempt at battling for the ??? I ask to maybe team up and get them done quicker or ask in auto translate when they will be done or if they happen to not need the seals I want in a kind manner. Sometimes I get an answere.. like yesterday a group of 5 JPs where wiping to carabosse (lol) so me and my BST mate offered to help so we could pop ours and get them done because it was taking them ages, turns out they just wanted the atma anyways..so we teamed up and proceeded to kill it for them and I got 2 gems.
Sometimes I get a civil response saying they are going to be awhile or they need all of the papers I asked about which is fair enough, I don't want to battle for ??? especially when JP do seal farming in army size parties, so I move on.
But majority of the time I ask those questions I get completley ignored even when I use auto-translate..Now my judgement is based off that because it happens 10 times over before I see a JP group willing to respond or cooperate..just a simple "no" or something, just for closure.
I have encountered both types, just the ignorant/bad players are a lot more common these days.
On Ragnarok it's pretty much always been like this. Doesn't seem to matter what the tell is about, either. 99% of the time if you send a jp a tell here and it's not in jp you get flat out ignored and has been like that for a long time. I've even offered people help if I happen to be running by and see they're in trouble but most of them would rather wipe to a NM than accept help from someone who isn't jp.
