I may not know MNK but that looks to be a tanking/evasion setup he's got going there. BQ ring, what looks to be Meridian (Is that Iota?), Alcide legs+1, I think Fugacity Beret, what I hope is a Gigant Mantle and Novia... honestly if he's trying to actually dodge/endure versus "throw a WHM and MNK/WAR on it" I think he's doing a decent job of it.

But again, I don't know MNK that well! Feel free to tell me I'm wrong.

I can't think of any reason to use an HP set on Sobek. The eva/dt stuff is fine I guess but really, if MNK/WAR can tank him just fine then /NIN + weird defensive sets is overkill and just leads to it having more opportunities to TP before it dies. Chalk it up to random JP gearing I guess.

Was heading to Yaguarogui to farm body seals with my group when we came across this guy and his party fighting it. What you see is his full time gear. The other ninja was fairly well geared, and the rest of his party was mediocre. The Blm though, while basically just a typical Teal Blm, kept trying to proc grellow on Yaguarogui even after it had been proc'd...with spells that weren't even of the right element. I say that it looked like he was trying to proc grellow cause the entire time his group was fighting it, he was cycling through Fire III, IV, Firaga III, and Flare, while it was Iceday.

Second time I've posted this guy up, but this time I was unfortunate enough to have him in my alliance for awhile. Basically was fulltiming this gear, though he did change from a Wyvern Helm to whichever Hachimaki that is about an hour into it. Only weaponskill he used was Nightmare Scythe, and on more than one occasion pulled a mob with Absorb-TP. He later tried leeching by going afk without warning, but I made sure the leader of the ally knew about it and he got kicked from party.

Now this last one is a town shot so I know I'm basically asking for it as far as getting banned or whatnot, but in this case it's pretty obvious what's wrong. Lv. 85 version of Kannagi, decent gear for the most part...but his Warrior subjob is gimp >_>. Sure it only really offers maybe 1 Str or something and Aggressor, but let's face it, to have an Empyrean with a gimp SJ like that is wrong, especially with how much easier it is to level lower level jobs.
