I would assume everyone farming would cap lights. Considering I can cap lights on NIN in what 15 min tops a well oiled BLU could in half that time. 1 KI 1 NM vs. Capping light + whole popset no contest.

Though Im sure Ill be asked for some proof.

How much time are we seriously assuming it takes to make a Briareus set? Or how much time he wasted getting that 1 KI back?

No matter how fast a BLU can kill, and I know it's fast, they do have to deal with repops and/or re-pulling. Plus there's the fact that Gold Pyxides more often than not have Temp Items, or Augmented Crap. Then you have to lower your potential for KIs even more when you take into account the fact that you'll also be seeing Carabosse and Hadhayosh pops in the chests. Oh and duplicates. Duplicates suck, especially if you're solo and/or otherwise don't have the room to hold the duplicate KIs.

Charged Whiskering is too unreliable for my taste. Even when I have the option, I'll just blitz through the NMs for a guaranteed set rather than potentially waste my time not seeing any of the right KIs or losing KIs to duplication.

About 20 minutes here, yeah. If we wanted to compare that to a BLU, it'd be a matter of luck. But to say that a BLU can farm an entire set "Faster than a NIN can reclaim and kill 1 KI NM" is ridiculous.

Solution: BLU cleave gold boxes on the mobs that drop pop items > NIN Kills NMs while doing that.

wow, 20min seems a little fast considering the run times between pops. Though I never did bri rotations with less than 3 characters and that normally took me 100minutes w/ farming included (whm thf nin). And as to the whole KI debate, it seems extremely stupid to me to cleave for 1 KI considering its like a 1/16ish chance (before different % drop rate on certain gold box items is considered, I figure that KIs have a lower % than temps and shit like that). Would basically be luck if you got the KI faster than just doing the nm.

he's always been a bitch so pay him no mind, 30 min's seems right for about 3 pop sets takes my group about an hour to farm 8 pops per nm then kill 24 nm's then run back and kill 8 bri's hoping for 16 helms

raenbro, i've gotta admit i've always valued your posts/input always, but this right here is wholly untrue; to go in-depth, example, when we first went on our first few tahrongi expeditions, we'd split cleaver lights accordingly (one dropped party after capping pearl, got amber capped as the other cleaver went and got azure capped with the rest of the people present), and even still with pure 30pearl/30amber cleaving, we'd only run into 1-2 key items per cleave, otherwise they were temp/augmented items

in the end, we [without regret] swapped to purely cleaving time, getting up to 360 mins as we claim adze/minhocao freely during such, as our thf steadily gets quivering eggs, tailmeat, etc, and then us spawning the cockatrice/manticore accordingly after time/aids/minicow

some things are debatable/arguable, but in the case of going manually for key items against amber-cleaving key item gathering, i'm 100% certain (paired with the fact of our +225 glavoid shell count in the span of three weeks, going on almost every second day) on giving a big fuck you to cleaving for key items

how am i anywhere along the lines of being on the bad end of the stick when i got my key item as intended, but with the included joy of watching random people make fools of themselves on the very same pop
