Leeching in Altepa a couple of weeks ago:

We weren't getting many TEs and people started whining about lights, when the reason we weren't getting TEs was incredible slow kill speed, the alliance was killing 1 mob at a time because none of the DDs were capable of soloing. Then this 4/5 Aurore pup started arguing that we needed more ruby because ruby gives more lights (both pearl and asure was capped and ruby was damn near capped already).

Before I could come on my keywhore job I had to swap to blm to cap azure for the alliance, here is why:

Everything is what it looks like (Ixion Cloak, Staff Strap) and EVERYTHING was fulltimed no matter which spell he was casting.

Idk why I didn't take a screenie of his gear, it was 4/5 hachiman and Wyvern Helm, if i remember right. Actually no, 4/5 hachiman and bracelets (idr which ones, but the lower half of him shows on the screenie and he's either bare-handed or using bracelets.

Another thing I find sad is when I see shouts that are 13/18, and an hour later they're 16/18 and still shouting. Because you NEED 18 people to get decent exp on anything ever these days. Although given the amount of pink/perle/teal I see in most allies, I shouldn't be surprised they're scared to go with less than a full ally. Possibly an outside healer or two as well, just to make sure.

I've MANY times out-killed full alliances on my monk, with huge TE gains/ no hp issues.

I did something like this about a month ago when my buddy's exp alliance was struggling. I went out there on my DNC to 'power level' their alliance (stop laughing! ). My chatlog was full of /checks the whole time, and my friend, the ally leader, and several others sent me /tells thanking me for the dramatically boosted exp. I could kill faster than all the ally's DDs combined (with isn't entirely their fault as they're still leveling and not geared out). It's quite the ego boost when the ally leader assigns you your own personal BLM and key whore.

And no, my DNC isn't anything extraordinary. It's just reasonably geared.

I would think that you could get black belt if you have Victory Smite. Err, I meant to put blackbelt in m commentary, not brown belt lol.

Smite doesn't require luck to get. Though he really should be using Fuma shoes with only 22% haste, that's the only huge quip I can find with it. Kemas Earring, Tantra Tath, and Spiral Ring are still gimp for TP though. Hoard Ring, Thew Bomblet, and Mermans Ear are not hard to get, and an NQ Orochi Nodowa would probably outperform that neck.

Holy jesus fuck the amount of white knighting in this thread the last month has been driving me crazy, back at 75 cap I could post somebody in 5/5 usu on SAM and EVERYBODY would agree that they're a stupid gimp. THIS IS NO DIFFERENT, having some good gear does not make it okay for them to have a piece of shit in another, gimp is gimp, shut the fuck up with the white knighting horseshit. If you can invest time to get smite and af3+2, you can invest time in getting black belt, farming gil to buy BB items would take less time than most people take to get a smite weapon even.
