Spellcast question. Sometimes when I'm nuking on my rdm, I notice my right ring doesn't change. I'm guessing I need to input a wait or pause somewhere. Where can I put that?

Card is fucked. If Apple installed it and such themselves, take it to an Apple store or licensed Apple provider and ask for them to install a replacement, showing them what happens if need be. They'll get your cell # and ask you to come back in an hour or so, problem solved. If it happens again (Odds of you getting two DOA cards in a row are slim), take it back and see if you can grief them into a different/better graphics card for free.

Does Penances' 25% TP gain reduction bypass the 50% Subtle Blow cap ? ie a MNK wearing 30 in subtle blow gear + JT for 50% + Penance for 75% reduction?

They are two different things. "Inhibit TP" is not Subtle Blow. They stack together.

How much STR am I looking at to cap fSTR on BLU? With just VV on I hit 74+180, is that likely to be enough? I tried adding Harvester to that but didn't notice any increases in damage on spells or melee hits, really, so I switched back to RR. I'm using Shamshir +1s in both hands. DMG 52.

It's multiplicative, not additive. Capped SB + Penance = 1*0.5*0.75 = 0.375 or a 62.5% reduction.

fSTR cap for BLU spells is 24 at 85 iirc, or 84 STR over the mob's VIT to cap. Shamshir +1 are wrank 5, so fSTR cap of 13 and 48 STR over the mob's VIT to cap.

Stupid question, but I returned back to ffxi back in October and dropped my Rajas Ring for a Tamas Ring. I wanted to switch back to a Rajas Ring again (now that my mage jobs are decently geared), but the door says I cannot obtain another ring for 27 days. Do I have to go 27 days without any ring at all? Or did I do something wrong back in October? Or do I need to call a GM?

First swap is instant, second+ swaps are 27 days from the time you drop the ring and talk to the door. If you just drop the ring and don't talk to the door, then you're waiting extra time.

Remember 27 days from ring/door, not 27 days from last swap.
