I feel like I remember something on that being in update notes years ago, but it may well be one of those "MAk suer thf get kill shot" things that just integrated into my memory. Dicking around waiting for dobsonflies and I'm wondering whether I should just Earth Crusher the bunch or not.

5 year old anecdotal evidence says that AoE'ing a bunch of mobs gives you shitty drop rates. Farming yag necklaces way back in the day, when I killed bunches of yags with cyclone, I got crap drops compared to one at a time. 45+thf at the time, fwiw. If you have competition, it might be better to AoE a bunch down so you get kills and not someone else, but if you're all alone there, I'd kill one at a time.

I don't see it. Message didn't proc on your first Fire IV. Am I missing something?

AoEing does make TH stick. Reduced drop rates when killed by AoE? Possible, I guess, but I doubt it.

On my first Fire IV, it gave me discernment message but didn't cause grellow !!. On my second Fire IV it caused grellow !!. Just asking if that's supposed to happen/normal.

No. Your first Fire III gave you the message. Your Fire IV gave nothing, which is why I was wondering if I was missing something. Personally, I have had no issues with procing after getting discernment.

I am having problems loggin on and didnt want to start a new thread.

I can log on POL just fine. But when i hit Play > close > play, it goes to black like its getting ready to log on. Then flashes and the FFXI site shows up again on POL.
This happens to both Windower and normal POL. It has worked find til now. I turned everything off, firewall and stuff and still no go.

This might not be a helpful response but, seriously, put them in any combination you'd like, they are the most useless set of t2 merits of any of the jobs that i've ever levelled. I dropped them on 2 spells just to ease the chance of jubaku and hojo landing for when solo... but really... not gonna make or break anything.

Hi.

I've finally gotten around to working on Abyssea - Konschtat fame and I've hit a snag. I remember people saying that the martello quests are easiest to work on until higher fame, but the Galka that gives you the Of Malnourished Martellos quest is just ignoring me. I've done Ayame's first quest and each of the three that her quest unlocks. I even have rank 2 fame so far. Am I missing something?

hmm are lights not 100% on mobs? I usually let other ppl handle lights but trying to do some solo work. Idk if i'm just mising it in the log or just not getting lights sometimes.

After it tells you to examine it from the east, when you get back into the menu it will say "Upgrade from xxx direction". Exit out of the menu, go to that side of the martello, and upgrade it there. Should be max return everytime.
