I saw that, fucking woot. Interviewing Justin Fuente(TCU Co-OC and QB coach) soon, which looks to be a very solid hire.

There was speculation of many candidates on tigerdroppings, including Cam Cameron. Doubtful imo but that would be a sick hire.

idk the contract is for UT only and iirc the Big 12 doesn't have a profit sharing system.

    Post-season thread?

    Post-season thread!

UGA O-Line coach Stacy Searels is reportedly leaving UGA to take the same job at Tejas. Imokwiththis. The more underachieving coaches we can cut and replace the better. If only Bobo would be demoted.

UGA has also landed Isiah Crowell's defensive tackle teammate Quintavious Harrow, bolstering their already high chances of landing the heralded RB recruit.

I think this is more a case of "Texas won't be joining any conference where they can't control all the financial strings for a while." The Big 12 is financially imbalanced, and this only makes it more so; whether that makes it more or less stable is hard to say -- Texas is the rock and isn't going anywhere which provides some innate stability, but eventually, it wouldn't shock me to see other schools leaving for greener pastures if they can find them. I think at this point, Texas could probably survive as an independent if they so desired.

I give it one more season before it's clear Richt has to go. You only get one year to fire and assistant and blame them, unfortunately that year he got was a 6-7 year worse than the previous. Richt is a good coach not a great coach.

Why are people acting like the Longhorn Network is news?

The only "news" here is that they're doing it cooperatively with ESPN.

The only reason the Big 12 was able to continue in the first place was agreeing to let Texas make their own network.

Oh, I agree 100%. I just wish this next year was Richt doing everything he possibly can to have a successful season, instead of handicapping himself by keeping Bobo. Any dead weight increases the chance of an improvement, so Searels leaving when our O-line was supposed to be a strength I consider a positive.

But yeah, if we're not in Atlanta next year im now of the opinion Richt has to go. Kirby Smart can do 6-7 with our current players, and at least hes been under Saban so long I'm sure some of Saban has rubbed off on him where 6-7 won't be 6-7 for very long.

LSU hires Kragthorpe to replace Crowton at OC. I am optimistic about the hire but I will reserve judgement until the season.

That's why I posted in the first place, the amount of crossover coverage/programming on the regular ESPN networks will be palpable I'm sure. Just another reason not to watch.

No mention of National Signing Day, so I thought I'd bump this thread.

    ESPN's class rankings:
    1. Florida State
    2. Alabama
    3. Auburn
    4. USC
    5. Texas
    6. Georgia
    7. Ohio State
    8. Clemson
    9. Notre Dame
    10. LSU
    11. Oklahooma
    12. Florida
    13. Tennessee
    14. Oregon
    15. UNC

    And Rivals:
    1. Alabama
    2. Florida State
    3. Texas
    4. USC
    5. Georgia
    6. LSU
    7. Auburn
    8. Clemson
    9. Notre Dame
    10. Ohio State
    11. Oregon
    12. Tennessee
    13. Oklahoma
    14. Florida
    15. Nebraska

Biggest story here is Jimbo Fisher and FSU taking over Florida from UF. His first full recruiting season is a huge success and obviously the ACC is a very winnable conference every year. Also Brian Kelly and Derek Dooley seemed to do well in the same amount of time at ND and UT respectively.

Two huge prospects still have not signed LOIs. Man-child DE Jadeveon Clowney (#1 ESPN, #1 Rivals) hasn't indicated where he'll sign but is expected to stay in South Carolina, probably with the Gamecocks, but he's also visited Clemson and Alabama. He'll announce his decision Feb. 14th. OT Cyrus Kouandjio (#3 ESPN, #4 Rivals) verbally committed to Auburn but did not sign, and is still considering Alabama and New Mexico (!) before he signs.

I'm hearing from sources at the university that they're both going to sign with 'bama. That could end up being wrong because I think that Kouandjio really is torn at the moment...just from looking at him and his responses to interviews. From what I hear though, the university is confident they'll get both. I really hope so, we could use another stud OL for sure.

Lol class rankings. Between JJ Watt, Gabe Carimi, and John Moffit (all of whom will go in the first two rounds of the draft out of Wisconsin, likely two in the first round), their high school rankings were a combined 1 star.

I'll give you Watt and Carimi. Moffitt, we'll see. Kendricks will go before him (but then again, he was a 4-star so you can't mention him and disregard the recruiting process.)

Sorry Wisconsin isn't in the top 25 on ESPN. #38 on Rivals. QQ

Loving the recruiting haul that we got this year. We finally got a class that addressed the serious need in the trenches. Lynch and Tuitt should get immediate playing time, can't wait to see it.

I'd be surprised if they've been in the top-25 in recruiting classes at any point in the past 15 years.

Yet they still end up in the AP top 25 every season. Strange how that works.

Yeah you're right. Feasting on the weak ass Big Ten, they really should be unranked most seasons.
