Wings of the Goddess Missions - December 2010 Update

Got the "Occ. grants dmg. bonus based on TP +5%" on the earring. Tested it out on lvl0 mobs in W. Sat, Tiny Mandy & Bumblebee, w/ 300tp. Ranged attacks were doing a constant 236, but rarely I would get a 472. Tried it again with lvl1 S. Bunnies, 189 constant, 378 on proc.




Edit: I've also gotten it to proc 2x damage at 150 & 200 TP. A couple times, like at 266 TP for example, I've gotten 1.75x damage. I have gotten it to proc on crits as well, going to do WS testing next.
Edit2: After 40 WS' on Tunnel Worms in N. Gusta with 100 TP, I was able to only get one WS to do a measly 15 more damage.

Been working on the Bastok storyline for the drain/aspir ring and I'm quickly approaching the Klara fight. http://wiki.ffxiclopedia.org/wiki/What_Price_Loyalty Has anyone done the Klara fight recently? I'm hoping to duo it with an LSmate and neither of us have bst, any chance we can pull it off with another duo setup?

I trioed this at 75 with 2 DDs and a whm. I would imagine healer with stona + any form of evasion tank should have no issue with this.

Ok thanks, our concern was Temblor Blade after 50% with the hate reset. Should I (as healer) spam low spells or something after 50% to make her come flat blade me instead of temblor blading?

Well if WHM, cure 5/6 shouldn't be generating much hate. You should be able to avoid all melee attacks with an evasion tank.

I remember hating that fight so much.. but then they introduced Alexander as a summon which crippled that move. So if either of you has Smn, that's an option to consider~

At 75, my group had a lot of trouble with this fight with only 2-3 people. The first 50% is entirely inconsequential but once she goes below 50% things get tricky. Temblor's petrify + hate reset, coupled with her AI making her run after casting mages means the longer she's at this stage the harder it is to keep hate controlled at all and eventually she would kill off the backline and that'd be it. We added a couple extra people and squeezed out a win, but it was pretty close.

That's at 75, though. At 90 it'd be a lot easier; our biggest problem was not pushing damage once she hit Temblor hp levels. Perfect Defense also solves a lot of problems. Gearing evasion should be really easy at current levels, doing damage will be much much easier as well. Just be sure whoever is healing knows they'll be getting beat on intermittently during the fight no matter how you run it.

Thanks for info, still haven't tried fight. I don't have SMN, and I have to be the healer since my closest tank job is COR or RNG lol. I'll be on either whm or rdm, RDM has more defensive capabilities unless of course I whm/nin'd. We'll see, I doubt it will be too hard.

Well the bonus on WS should be miniscule as you would only have your TP return of 'readying' the WS to augment your damage.

What was the overall proc rate of the added damage? Truly 5%?

Adding some info to the thread from my earlier Q. The first Klara fight was a joke nin + rdm/whm. After 50% I just kept casting long spells like RR so she'd come flat blade me instead of using the annoying WS. While tank was pulling her back I'd re-SS and then once again begin a long cast. I think she flat bladed me 3 times before she was dead.
