i would say 2-5 is pretty darn good man

today i went 2 horn out of 7 apademaks

not to mention dragua is easy to pop with boxable KI, and also a dragon to easily proc red to get KI

orthus is much harder with gay tiger king hide (gay NM and gay drop rate), apademak with gay sisyphus cockblocker (also gay NM with gay drop rate) but at least orthus is 100% 1-2 and not fucking 0

You can gold-box Tiger King Hides. I was solo AOE farming mandies on BLU and got like 3 in probably 30 minutes. It's a shame they had to rot, as they're going for 120k on my server right now.

odd, we are going again tonight but i know last night we kept getting large gold chests and only got one key item from them and we made about 5 t2 cerb pops just off of gold chests,

I've never seen any non-key item pop items from large gold chests, and I spent a lot of time farming them. Might just be a low chance and you got lucky. :X

It scales with how much light you have. In Tahrongi for instance, you get Tier 1 pop items (Eft Egg) then Tier 2 pop items (Quivering Eft Egg) and then Key Items. So to farm Tiger King's Hides, you'd need some Amber light but not capped.

I'm in the same boat. Just finished 1, 2, 3, 13, 14 ops. I have all quests done except for "The Secret Ingredient" and "Proof of the Lion", and I have "heroine of the desert" fame. No atma offered at all.

May I ask what mobs are people farming gold boxes in altepa? They all seem to have ruby lights or are you AOEing with magic? Thanks.

Has anyone else experienced rather high rate of body seal rewards on the Brygid quest? I've gone 5/9 on getting a body seal. Of course I have none of the jobs on this quest so I suppose if it were someone with them they'd get squat.

WHM in shell got that Beneficus Club today and wanted to run some tests. Beneficus adds +5 MDB to barspell, the same as Blessed Body. Also WHM gets another trait of MDB at some point which totals them out to 18 MDB.

Working the math out it appears that 559 is the base damage from the worm before MDB is applied.

1) floor( 559 / 1.18 ) = 473
2) floor( 559 / 1.28 ) = 436
3) floor( 559 / 1.33 ) = 420

He did test it once before warping out, but it was a resist for 194 damage. It suggests that all sources of MDB stack accordingly.

18 MDB trait, 10 Bar Merits, 5 Solace, 5 Blessed Body, 5 Beneficus = 43 MDB

floor( 559 *.5 ) = 279
279 / 1.43 = 195 damage

It doesn't work out perfectly, but it's probably due to how NPC's calculate magic damage differently than PCs, and there's an extra rounding/flooring step before MDB is applied. In any sense it still appears to stack~

So me and my 2 friends wanna spam the hell out of Amarok for +1s, and then Orthrus for +2s. The first Cerb is a joke, obviously, but I was wondering if we could trio the second Cerb as well. We have all the standard Atmas and 3-4 Merit Abyssites each as well as Skype/Vent communication (in addition to not being idiots). Jobs are [BLU/RDM/BLM/shitty-geared-PLD], [BLM/RDM/DRG], and [DNC/BRD/THF].

Is there some combination of the above jobs that could spam Orthrus fairly easily? We've each been talking about taking up some of the optimal Abyssea jobs (WHM, MNK, NIN, WAR), and we have varying amounts of progress into it. Would we be better off finishing some of these first, or can we make due with what we've got?

Unless your drg or dnc feels comfortable tanking it and being healed by the rdm's cure 4, you 3 should level an "optimal" job. Dnc/thf/pld wont put out enough dmg to kill fast. Is it killable with your jobs? yes. Do you want to take 20-30 minutes to do it, and cockblock the entire server on that mob? Up to you.
