In the group I was helping farm this (which was small + mules) we usually killed 2-2.5 before the dahak respawned. 20-30 minutes is ludicrous for Dragua.

Tip: It gives everyone who kills it a fanatic's powder every time it dies. Put everyone on paws, rotate fanatic's powders, esuna slows. Winning

None of his nukes do any significant damage. If speed is your motive, you're better off not swapping to mdt or earth resist - a single whm is more than enough to cure a Mnk for the entirety of the fight without resist sets. If you're looking for lower numbers on damage taken and a longer fight, by all means swap to your sets.

When theres 3-4 groups of 3-10 people per group camping around the ??? waiting for it to repop... It has nothing to do with easy mode, but the fact that SE put abyssea in a timebomb environment, theres no need to create mobs with 75-90k hp, with rather intense regen and defense when the first 70% of the fight is just a waste of time. Its not going to want people to move to doing stuff in bigger groups when everything in abyssea can be done DD+WHM. Just put NM's immediately in TP spam mode and drop their HP by 1/2.

every time I've seen "cool" kids of trioers, or even quartets, the fight generally took about 20 minutes. Your "small" group sounds more like the group I'm with, when I'm not 3boxing stuff: 4-6 people with everyone 2-3 boxing. At that point, its not a small group, its anywhere from half, to more than half of an alliance. Just because theres 4-6 human's behind those screen's, doesnt mean you're killing shit with 4-6 characters. Unless NM's on your server are pussies for some reason, every time I've seen a group fight Dragua, WS's (and I'm talking Hi and Smite) were generally docking 1%HP, sometimes, rarely, 2%...never more.

But hey, if you think doing abyssea with 14 characters is Winning, then by all means, keep telling yourself you've got Tiger Blood.
Session 1: 6pm-1am, still figuring out what was most efficient method, used Aeolian instead of Cata (38 scales)
Session 2: 6pm-10pm (24 scales)
Session 3: 8pm-11pm (4 scales, because of "l33t" groups circle jerking on ???, there were literally 4 groups there)
Session 4: 10am-1130am (last 9 scales)

So 15 1/2 hours to push Vere from 85 to 90, and thats counting all lights building time per session, and those were all 3boxed except session 1....not that it significantly helped though:
Enter, farm up lights, Aeolian Mandies, load up 3/3 KI's, spawn Dragua on Keh, brew, lock on chest, spawn Nyn, kill, lock, spawn vermy, kill, lock, take nyn and vermy back to mandies till another 1/2 ear's load in chest (always clear off pops immediately because you dont want to load 1 KI, then do another pull and get 2), repeat till finished.

every time I've seen a group fight Dragua, WS's (and I'm talking Hi and Smite) were generally docking 1%HP, sometimes, rarely, 2%...never more.

They either suck or missed the first hit every time and only hit a DA, in which case they would suck too. 1% of Dragua's HP for Smite and Hi definitely isn't right, at least not going by the fights I've done. Then again who knows what groups were fighting it..

i like to brew simply to speed things up, sure if ive only a few pops, ill fight them normally, but say i had 12 pops build across friends, you can kill like 4 per brew, 3~ brews for 12pops, thats like 45mins~(3min waits for the ???'s? + 9mins from 3 brews), its certainly faster, but i do agree with how you feel brew is easy mode, but like, its an option, and when in rome...

I guess I live life in easy mode by using Cable instead of Dialup, by driving a car instead of walking everywhere, by buying groceries instead of growing my own crops....etc etc etc
