Tried Apademak last night with my usual all-greellow-trigger+zomgTH group (Kannagi NIN, WHM, BLM, BRD, BLU, THF) and fight didn't go so well.

All thunder spells were stunned and it was Innin tailtanked. We wiped to a thunder 4 that followed a Burst or something and BLMs stun wasn't ready while BLU stun didn't take effect.

Anyway, what's a good strat to take this stupid thing down? I am disheartened to imagine my 75 horns will be far away to get :X

It truely comes down to sucking less. Had a sch/blm solo stun, Kannagi nin, blm, and thf. Kill it in a timely manner so it doesn't start to resist stun

I like the sucking less idea. Trio-box THF-WHM-RDM/BLM and a spare WHM, took it down quick without incident.

Do people still use THF for TH-orny? At least tell him to gear himself so he can act as a backup tank.

afaik dhrome is more dangerous than apademak if he manage to chainspell....

Even if he doesnt chainspell, he is still deadly if he uses his "ultimate" combo. He will always cast a spell after a WS

so the worst case scenario is AOE fast cast thunder V/Burst II > fulmination > another AOE fast cast V/burst II

if your not dual boxing, your whm will definately "slack" a few second and it can be deadly

it is still unknown how dhrome chainspell but for my personal experience, i only managed to make him CS when i stun him. Told everyone not to do it and never experience chainspell again.

if its apademak, do not tail tank lol plague swipe is not a WS you wanna play with. But i dont think you can wipe to an apademak that fast compared to a dhrome ultimate combo

Apademak - I've been trioing it a lot MNK WHM BLM, although I'm sure NIN WHM BLM would work too. Pull it to the ledge just in case you miss a Stun (although we never have.) Rani atma helps a lot.

We dual tank him with a tank on each side. He never even attempts lithic breath, stun his spells and he's a pretty easy farm.

Some NMs in abyssea use 2hr if they use a certain TP move a certain number of times, maybe dhorme is like that

Didn't wipe to Dhorme on 3 fights we did, even if it Chainspelled on one of them.

Won't tail tank for next time.

BLM doesn't have Rani atma yet, I guess priority is just to have him hasted and shouldn't miss stun.

THF does DD and cotanks, but I just don't like over TP feed on higher NMs.

I never liked apademak, we almost always get breath > swipe , so we just brew them down, 1 brew takes care 4/5 of them, 200k cruor really isn't that bad. I guess i never understood how Arthars manage to escape breath>swipe.

Anyhow, since we only have 2 people needing that mob, brewing works for us pretty much, especially with chest stopping the brew timer.

How to evade it is stated on this page I think lol, tank on it's side and it won't breath or swipe. It's srsly an easy fight with competent stunners

As stated before, just tank it from the sides and don't hold on damage, I have a feeling that your group is trying to grellow it for mats as well, but the longer you take to kill it the greater the risks of it running out of control. We usually take it down in less than 5mins with MNK/WAR/THF/WHM/Stunner. If your group really wants/needs the jewels, just farm Hedjejet/Fuath/Orthrus, those can be held forever, Apademak will go crazy.

Fulm and grellow is pretty easy you just have to proc it fast because of stun resist and him leveling up.
Its one of those fights that is made hard by unprepared groups.

Will only use Dreadstorm and Tenebrous Mist. As long as you never miss a stun, you could afk counter tank it with mnk and have no problems killing it.

are you reading it right? of course he have to lvl up to use it IF YOU ARE TANKING AT SIDE

If you tank him face to face right of the bat, of course he got lithic breathe even w/o lvling up. You gave him the "access" but who would do that LOL. You sound like he uses lithic breathe on you like a normal basis, which makes me believe your indeed tanking him face to face. That is a serious problem then

He will only "have access" to breathe if he lvl up when your tanking sideways.

1. i stated to stun ALL spells and dont use anything THUNDER on him
2. i stated how to dodge lithic IF you fail/suck at stunning, which cause him to lvl up and will make him turn + do 1 WS(which have a very chance for it to be fulmination or breathe)

if your good at 1. then dont worry about 2.

if you suck at 1. then go read up on 2.

This nm is an absolute joke with a good stunner. All the horror stories made me think this was going to be AV 2.0.
