    Main Hand?

Has anyone tried the main-hand vs. subbing TK to see if that matters with upgrade messages? At work right now, or would test myself.

Sub'd TK the entire time when I was getting 9s, 10s and 11s.

I did test going to non-TH TP gear, and saw 0 procs after I hit 9. Non-TH gear consisted of swapping out TK, AA and RP+2. So..... it might just suck that the more TH you want, the crappier your THF gets to be. Unfortunately my tests were only on 3 iterations of a mob that took us about 8 minutes to fight.

first action applies TH like it has for ages

You only get a message when your melee attack "upgrades" it. ie +1

Probably been mentioned already... but is anyone else annoyed this basically forces THF to fulltime TK and TP in armlets and +2 feet?
(unless I'm reading how procs work incorrectly)

Placebo effect imo just to make thfs happy. I procd a 10 TH on Buffalo nm in Ule range, full timing TH6, and he dropped 1 seal and nothing else. On the next fight i got only a th7, and the nm dropped 2 seals, his trigger, and his ring. I think it does help to get a more consistant drop pool but as always lolTH is LolTH. But b/c of the AGI update there is no reason to not just leave a thf on the nm fulltime, mind you i tp in 230 agi in abyssea.

No, I just pulled a mob with TH+ on, took em off immediately (hands/ft), and TH+ proc was 8.

I'm wondering now, can you proc the add effect with SA+WS. Its a known fact that add effects proc on WS, but this ones....special?

It's probably just random. I was meleeing Lebros Cavern's walls for 30 minutes to test TH, I got 3 procs in 5 minutes taking me to TH7, then nothing for 20 minutes (So I thought I was capped) and then 2 more procs within a minute (To TH9 total.) Kept TK and AA on the whole time.

    Random shit is random.

    Not true.

Tested on Amhuluk last night. Began the fight in AA/TK/RP+2 @ 90THF - upon using TP, I removed all TH gear to put on DD gear. The first proc received after removing the gear was effect of 7, and the fight ended with another proc to 8. No dread was used, so base of TH6 and increased x2, even after removing all TH+ gear.

Good stuff! I just probably got unlucky with mine. Btw, confirmed, RA does count as a tag, and it doesn't matter who tags first, who ever has the higher TH, thats the starting baseline.

I skimmed through, I dont know if this situation was tested:

1 THF engages mob, without TH items (TH3), a TH+ proc hits (TH4), and the thf goes "oops forgot TH gear". They swap all TH+ gear on and swings again, does it become TH6(TK/AA/RP+2) or does the previous +1 still hold and it becomes TH7?

Because 2 kills is a big enough sample size to determine whether or not something is merely a placebo? There could be a 99% chance to drop the item, and you could still not get it.

From my limited experience thus far, it becomes 6. TH items/atma bring it up to some baseline if it is lower than it, but otherwise do not effect.

This is actually not unreasonable to assume. If one does the math on that, one sees that drop rates only skyrocket on stuff that already had decent drop rates.

Let's assume that each level of TH on a mob = 1 additional roll (after the base one) for an item to drop.

Now, take for example that something has a baseline of a 50% chance to drop. TH1 doesn't make it 100%, it makes it 75% (two rolls at a 50% chance). If a TH modifier of 11 (the highest I've seen in this thread) would give you 12 rolls (the base one plus your 11 extra), then that does indeed become a 99.975% chance to drop. Your 50% drop becomes basically guaranteed.

But now assume something has a baseline 5% drop rate. Again, TH1 doesn't give you 10%, it actually gives you 9.75%. That's almost double, but if you keep adding rolls you see that even at TH11, you only bump that up to about 46%. While 5% to 46% is good, that's still a less than 50% chance of a drop with the highest known TH on the mob.

Using the same math, at a baseline of 1% drop rate, TH11 only gives you an 11.4% chance for the item.

Bottom line, if you assume that TH number simply equals the number of rolls you get for an item, then it does indeed have very diminishing returns, and stuff with shitty droprates are still going to be (relatively) shitty.

Eh, it's still 10 times more likely you'll see a 1% drop rate item appear in the loot pool. Statistically killing a mob 10 times to get a drop versus 100? I'll take it.

So, what is the TH level of Bounty Shot? Or is it independent of TH?

Not sure, but when I proc'd TH9 last night, a RNG bounty shot the mob and got "No effect".
