There is a point that, yes, there is islamophobia in Europe and the US, and yes, the US's imperialistic adventures have caused problems for people in the Middle East. But this doesn't mean that you have to go around findings controversies where there is little justification for them. You're just looking for something to get mad about, when there's plenty of legitimate shit to bitch about.

This is not one of those instances.

If this were an act of Islamophobia, why would someone name a product (in this case, a venue for entertainment) after something hated/feared/disliked? Usually people name things after things that are positive.

The word mecca does not belong to Islam and has other meanings than the one that Islam uses. When words have multiple meanings it is possible to use it with respect to its more generic meaning and have nothing to do with Islam. I will agree with you that if the club was decorated in a fashion that makes its meaning clearly connected with Islam then that is in poor taste but rather than change the name they should have just redecorated.

Closest thing I can think of is photo-ID's being taken must be taken with it off. It sucks for them but I mean...it's kind of necessary otherwise it defeats the purpose of a photo-id

Nobody has a right to not be insulted. If you're saying that these things should not be allowed, then tough luck. If you're saying it's not moral, then that's something different all together, but that's up to individual people to decide. And that's how it works in the West. Morality is rarely dictated by government, but is left to the individual.

France. These topics are completely unrelated though. Banning the veil is unethical as it prevents people from practicing their religion in a completely legal way(doesn't harm others). But the nightclub naming thing is retarded. Islamic people have no right to tell others what to do. Even if what the other people are doing is against their religion. That's what is wrong with religion. Being intolerant of other people is wrong, regardless of what your god says.
