They just look like chiclet keys to me, similar to what Sony or Apple use.

I really enjoy the feel of the Cr-48

Its under 4 lbs, and compared to my Dell XPS, its almost like a macbook air (I know its really not, but I'm amazed at its weight)

The keys on the keyboard feel great, I'm not noticing any real sticking or complexities with it. The trackpad is the size of a 6th gen ipod (see below)

Battery life on it is great. I just need to get used to the way the trackpad feels, like double finger click is right click, hold and scroll for the right click options, etc.

Alt tab is used kind of like plates/workspaces in Mac/Linux, if you have another "window" open it shifts to that window.


Powering down is instant, which is pleasing to say the least. I can see myself using this for non-studying purposes, like an ipad with a keyboard pretty much.

Youtube (flash) works like an old truck. Anything flash with linux kind of sucks, and more so on this. But its understandable because its just a simple netbook

Instant boot off

About 15 seconds to boot up from press to log in.

No IM apps, the chrome store only opened a few days ago.

The caps lock key (a search glass) opens closes tabs (really really neat)

Hibernate/standby takes literally a second to load up without any real lag.

The tweet deck app is nice, integrates my 3 main social feeds (twitter facebook and foursquare (you cant check in via laptop))

Theres a nice photoshop-like app in the chrome store which is nice for flickr/removing shit from your face before you upload it on facebook

Again, I'm still kind of mad about youtube, the load times arent bad, and its not bad for music (going to install pandora now). But I really really like watching Revision3, The daily show, and other shit online. Maybe they'll upgrade to HTML 5 or Chrome OS will get flash 10.2? Dunno dawg

Sounds pretty win if all you want it for is the webs (lol the official 4chan netbook). Which is really all my laptop is for these days; IM/Browsing/Maaaaaybe some on-the-go word processing.

HTML5 is supposed to work fine out of the box. As for Flash... I'm sure they will light a fire under Adobe to put out a better Flash Player for it.

Yeah its mine to keep. You can't dual boot on it because its all flash storage.

I want to say the network connection works similar to a wifi on an iphone. It takes a second or two for it to actually reconnect after hibernation

Blame the need for larger monitors. After the keyboard is set, crammed up against the top, they don't know what else to do with all that space.

Well, the description of how it works - double finger swipe to scroll, double finger click to right click and so on - is basically identical to how Mac trackpads have been for a while. Those too are rather large. 'course, with multi-touch trackpads, the extra size is actually kind of nice in some ways. Annoying to accidentally hit...but otherwise nice.
