Trailer looks fantastic, I like the look and feel of the aliens. The Independence Day of the 21st century?

Looks cool, I am a sucker for apocalyptic movies.
I saw this trailer a while ago and thought it looked cool. I hope it's not another Skyline.
Michelle Rodriguez is in this and I swear she dies in every single movie she's in.
Lots of space-y movies coming out these days.
Too bad she only bites vaginas off.
This movis looks awesome, i'm sure it will be a lot better than Skyline.
Just watched the History channel special about the incident during WWII this is inspired by.
I think it would have been more interesting as a period piece than what it seems to be.
New trailer here:

I gotta say, this looks pretty bad ass...
Did any one else notice Cocoon in the distance at :55 in the original trailer? lol
I hope this doesn't end like District 9 or Cloverfield, movies I liked so much with an ending that resolved nothing and left me wanting so much more from something I'd never see a sequel to =(
I honestly want a hopeless ending. From watching the trailers, there should be no way for human survival.
I'm rooting for the aliens to level LA to the ground then remember they left the oven on at home and head back
Didn't see a thread for this and didn't find one in search. Wondering if anyone else is interested in this movie.
Trailers:
This one is loud so turn it down to about 20-25% vol.
edit: thanks
Went to midnight release, was pretty good I'd say but there was definitely a lot of cliches.
Spoiler: show
I saw it this afternoon. It was all right, despite the soulful staring and "Tell my wife I love her" moments. Lots of cliches, like the above poster wrote. The action was pretty good though. I liked how they stayed with the same group of ground soldiers and you never saw a rousing presidential speech once. The action was pretty much constant from beginning to end, except for those cliched moments I mentioned.
I was also pleasantly surprised that:
Spoiler: show
Agreed with above. Minus the pleasantly surprised part
I went in expecting a mindless action movie, and thats exacty what I got. This is by no means anything amazing like District 9, but it was definitely entertaining.
I also saw this tonight, I liked it, but was very video gamey. Its like a FPS game I played at some point. LOL
I saw it Friday and one of the people I was with said, "Good game, bad movie." lol
