Finished it a little while ago. Solid overall - think I still liked the second better. Was a little glitchy yea - had music cut out occasionally, a couple graphics glitches (that didn't repeat/etc), things jumping into cutscenes... but nothing game-breaking, whereas both of the previous games locked up on me (once each).

Much easier than either of the other two as well, but in some ways due to pacing being a bit more even. Still, does lack the grand scale that 2 had, despite having some nice sequences nearer the end. It's still a solid game, has its moments, but felt like it could have had a fair bit more. Almost wonder if it got edited down a lot or had to make the holiday season.

    Spoiler: show
Though one thing I did appreciate was that there was only a very limited section with "nonhuman" enemies, but maybe that's a pet peeve of mine and others like 'em - also, foreshadowing regarding Sully is only there so you buy that he's dead during a particular segment, he doesn't die this time either. Honestly, there was a lot of buildup for stuff that basically didn't go anywhere.

Just got done with this. Have to say I found it pretty lackluster and predictable. Why is Drake staggering around like he's drunk off his ass most of the game too? Eh, was worth a play anyway.

    Spoiler: show
Also, the ending chapter was basically the same as 2... except no real boss fight. Just... ugh. Boring.

Well, to be fair, he got the crap kicked out of him quite a lot...

Also half-wondering if 3D support played into some of the scaling down from 2.

I thought the game was going great until after the cutscene with Marlowe in Yemen and the chase scene through the market. Everything felt so rushed after that. Still enjoyed the game a lot, but the climax was a bit of a let down. :/

    Spoiler: show
What was the significance behind the tarot card & Cutter? How did Talbot do the things he did? It can't all be the drugs, can it? Who did Talbot shoot near the end if it wasn't Sully?
Why did they have to kill of Marlowe? She was a great villian, I'd have loved to have seen her again.

Just beat it. really quite disappointed with the game actually. Especially with the last 2 chapters. It really did seem incredibly rushed. Spent a bit of time in all the different locations the 1st half of the game, but then every location after that you were only in for like 5-10 min.
The enemies felt incredibly repetitive. I know they probably were in 1 and 2 as well, but it just stuck out so much more in this game. Then there was the overuse of the "run from something as the camera looks at you making seeing where you are going impossible" thing.
And then there were all the loose ends they never bothered to tie up.
    Spoiler: show
What happened with Cutter and other girl, the significance of the tarot card as stated in above post, the spiders, what exactly was in the urn, why the henchmen had no concern for their lives (Drake mentioned it in game like 3 times). How Talbot survived and seemed fine after being shot by Cutter. How they had the hallucinogen already without being to the city. Any kind of backstory on the secret society. Just to name a few.

Then there were the convenient plot stuff. Like why old lady waited 20 years to go after the ring again, Alibaba dude not just going to the entrance of the city when they lost Drake and only showing up at the end, Talbot never killing Drake when he had multiple chances to do so after not needing him any more. And they played on Sully dying so much in this game it truly was ridiculous. I don't think I would have cared if he did actually die. I'd probably just have been thankful he was finally truly dead. Also, why was Nathen Drake so concerned with the city and ring? Several people asked him why they are continuing their little quest and why Drake was so obsessed with it, but no personal reason was ever given or cared about. Then there was "Drake's secret" that Marlow mentioned, which of course, there was no mention of. Unless "Drake isn't his real last name" was supposed to be his secret and the reason the game is titled "Drake's Deception", which if that is why, that is the very lamest thing about the game.

Best we could hope for to tie all this up is DLC that involves the return of Talbot chasing down Drake and Sully for revenge, and then we can learn about all the other stuff I mentioned and learn Talbot is some Djinn or something

edit: oh wow, no counter prompt during fist fights on Crushing. Will make the end fight a real bitch...

I think it has more to do with Francis, than Nathan. With him covering up his entire voyage etc.

I still need survivor, master reloader, and side arm trophies to plat it. It's so hard to get any kind of streak in this game, at least for me. Either during a chase scene my character decides to go the wrong way off a balcony, or a dude with a shotgun comes out of nowhere and shoots me right in the face somehow.

    IDK about all the negativity..

I fucking loved the game, I watched my brother play it from beginning to end and i thoroughly enjoyed every moment of it. To answer some questions IN GUESSING FORMAT

    Spoiler: show
The Drug they were using earlier in the game I don't think was the same thing as the drug in the water at the end. My guess it was some sort of mild hallucinogen, not the raw power of the Water-Stuff... The Water-Stuff made Drake more or less go back in time, the stuff Suit-Guy used only made you go wacky

My guess when Sully got "shot", Nobody got shot, and the Old Lady/Talw/e were probably never even there. Drake was trippin' balls, hallucinogen and what not, thats how i saw it. Hence the Flamming Skull people, the Eclipse that never happened... All illusions.

Chloe and Cutter "Dropped out" after He broke his leg, It says so right in the game, Like, In one of the chat conversations.

I would like to know how Suit GUy survived being shot, My educated guess? Bullet proof Jacket. you know, This is just a guess though

Final thought, You guys set your standards and expectations unrealistically high, the only thing i felt was rushed was the co-op

    Spoiler: show
Edit: I take that back, The final chapter felt rushed, I think the End-Boss fight was a bit lame and the Old lady dying felt too easy, and the whole Brass Jug being so easily disposed off

saying you have answers then using "My guess is" in every sentence isn't very good lol
And answers or not, it doesn't make it any less annoying that they didnt address any of it, which is what my problem with it was in the first place.

    Spoiler: show
    and just because I'm bored;
Even if the drug Talbot used wasn't the crazy water, it was still a very powerful "do whatever i say" drug, which itself begs an explanation.

Everything right after Drake drank the water probably didn't happen (he may have seen talbot/marlow, but they didn't shoot anyone.) and he fought some guards, but they werent really ghost riders.

obviously they just "dropped out". I only said it was really lame how a single sentence got rid of the 2 for the remainder of the game.

And how Talbot survived, I guess we'll never actually know since they didn't bother saying anything. And did Cutter shoot him in the chest? I don't remember.

Do we have any idea yet on what the Vita Uncharted game is about, or even a title yet?

    Its Uncharted: Golden Abyss

Here is the synopse. Only thing I could really find:

Uncover the dark secret behind the 400-year-old massacre of a Spanish expedition as Nathan Drake follows the murderous trail of an ancient and secret Spanish sect in Uncharted: Golden Abyss. Caught in the middle of a rivalry between Jason Dante -- his old friend -- and Marisa Chase -- the granddaughter of an archaeologist who has mysteriously vanished without a trace -- Nathan Drake races into the treacherous river basins, undiscovered temple ruins and karst caverns of Central America in search of a legendary lost city, only to find himself pushed to the edge of the Golden Abyss.

Edited. I guess i enjoyed it because I don't expect a game to spell out every single detail to me. Somethings i always assume we'll have to "Wonder" about. The only one i have a peeve with is not knowing what was in the jug... There were quite a few questions that do warrant an answer however, i do agree with you on that.

But from a pure enjoyment point of view, i loved the game... x.x

I'm guessing the water shit may have just been "infinite supply" of said crazy drug, and more powerful?

Everything right after Drake drank the water probably didn't happen (he may have seen talbot/marlow, but they didn't shoot anyone.) and he fought some guards, but they werent really ghost riders.
    Yeah.

Kinda expected them to show up in the end, I know it sucks it was basically a one liner explaining them away but it was explained :\

He was shot near his heart i believe.

I thought the game was top tier. I find it odd you guys think the ending was rushed because I thought the first 8-9 chapters were really slow. It finally picked up at about chapter 10 and kept me entertained throughout. My only complaint with the game is the ending battle. Just like uncharted 2, I felt like the final fight was just underwhelming.

Most of the things that you said were unexplained have an explanation. It just wasn't directly told to you because the writer expects you to think about it. As far as the things that actually weren't revealed, don't forget that you are playing the game as Nate and the bad guys aren't going to explain every detail of their plans, tools, etc.

    Spoiler: show

Amy_Hennig said: Sure. I tend to like to write stories that require interpretation, rather than laying everything out, so I'm happy to elaborate.

Amy_Hennig said: Hey - I saw people are also confused about Talbot getting shot, and disappearing... maybe I can elaborate a little...

Marlowe's crew is supposed to be a highly-trained clandestine organization, with roots stretching back to Elizabeth I and earlier. Sort of like CIA/MI6 secret intelligence service type ops... so the idea is they have lots of means to confound their enemies like a secret arm of the CIA or MI6 might, for example. Like Cutter says, manipulating their enemies through espionage, deception, fear.

This is based on real-life clandestine ops, and "the art of deception". Groups like the CIA really used magician's tricks as well as drugs, etc. to trick and frighten their enemies. So - you can assume there's a rational explanation behind these mysteries... e.g., a bulletproof vest, an escape rope/wire, whatever--which looks "magical" but has a rational explanation, just like a magician's trick.

Magic, tricks, deception, illusion, perception vs. reality - these are themes throughout the game. Abra-goddamn-cadabra.

Amy_Hennig said: If you watch closely, you can see that Cutter had three Tarot cards pasted in his journal - The High Priestess, The Magician, and The Tower. (When you get Cutter's journal later, notice that the Tower card is gone...)

When Talbot takes the journal from him, they remove the Tower card and slip it into Cutter's jacket.

You can also see notes in Cutter's journal about the other cards - The High Priestess = Marlowe, The Magician = Talbot.

The Tarot is full of Hermetic symbolism, which ties into what Cutter was saying in that one scene, about the ancient secret society. And how Hermetic mysticism is all tied up in it. So planting the card on Cutter is sort of an ominous, creepy warning to him and the others. Since it predicted his own fate - or at least the fate they orchestrated for him.

Try googling some stuff about Tarot and The Tower, too. (And the other cards) There's other symbolism there, too, it's just more oblique. Plus it's all payback for him duping them as Drake's "inside man", earlier. Fitting payback, since he's the one that has deduced all this. Sort of like showing him "oh you think you're so clever, looking who you're f*cking with"

have been so busy since the game's release that I haven't had a chance to sit down and play until today. Was really looking forward to it being in 3d, but god is the 3d awful Never had a problem w/ghosting on any game of movie, but its pretty excessive in this and lowering the 3d strength doesn't help. Seems a handful of ppl have no problem while it's a big problem for a lot of others.

The only issue we had with the 3D Was getting our TV to recognize the glasses.

Which turned out we were blocking the IR Sensor.

Never had to mess around w/any settings for any game or movie, but uc3 just has issues. And it's not my tv since its top of the line 55inch Panasonic plasma. Googling the issue shows a lot of ppl having the same issue, though a handful say it's the best 3d they have seen lol. I guess that's where having ur tv professionally tuned comes in handy

    The scenes where

    Drake is tripping balls

would probably make me vomit if they were in 3D.
