I'm so utterly disappointed in this game I cant even bring myself to finish it.

I greatly enjoyed it. Is it as good as the last one? No, but its still a damn fine game imo.
As for plot holes, it's just that the story is told from a limited perspective, namely Drakes, and since he doesnt get the chance to learn every fact, neither do we.
Goddamnit you people need to stop misusing the word "plot holes"
I just can't say exactly why, but I just am not getting that same excitement that I had with 2. Two felt like a blockbuster movie that I was right in the middle of. This feels like a too soon spinoff that just doesn't have the same pull.
I am at the end of the ship graveyard and while the level was not too shabby to look at, I just don't find much else about the game that exciting. It sucks. At least it was a Gamefly rent... but still bummed.
the game just felt like 1 giant fetch quest.Spoiler: show
Even with all the disappointment I'm seeing in this thread, I get the feeling a lot of it is just "Not as good as Uncharted 2", which for me, is fine. Uncharted 2 was fucking amazing. If #3 isn't as perfect, well, it'll still be a great game.
Anyways, DigitalFoundry did a write up on the game, although it isn't as technical as I would have liked - http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/di...vs-uncharted-3
Also glad I didn't pick up my Uncharted 3 pre-order. Seems EB Games decided to bundle it onto their Sony 24" 3D display SKU alongside Resistance 3 & Motorstorm Apocalypse.
Wha? I google'd ebgames and it directed me to GameStop and I didn't see the addition of UC3 to the package. I am going to try and sweet talk them into giving me a copy of resistance 3 since I didn't preorder till October
It's the Canadian GameStop, and shares the .ca domain under the GameStop name - http://www.gamestop.ca/accessories/p...h-bonus/309849
Didn't see anything as a bonus for the US side of things. If so, about bloody time I get a worthwhile bonus up here. Seems I won't have to wait until December either as the release date got bumped down to November 13th. Can't fucking wait to play some Resistance/Uncharted 3.
3 games+the tv is a steal, grats lol
Just finished this game and it was completely underwhelming. The second game definitely seemed more fun overall. There was far too much hype leading up to this game imo. I think it added to the disappointment.
Well, this is partly true. If Uncharted 2 never existed there would be less criticism, but I would argue that it's not just "2 is better than 3". The 1st criticism would be just how similar 3 was to 2. There didn't seem to be much innovation, if any at all, between 2 and 3. This isn't necessarily bad, as you could argue that more of 2 isn't a bad thing and there wasn't much needed to make better. However this complaint is something the creators and players should have expected.
The story was also extremely unoriginal and uninspired compared to 2. There's only so many times the bad guys can just simply follow the good guys into the puzzle filled temple before you wonder why Drake and co just don't wait and ambush the bad guys.
It felt like 3 was just a very long Uncharted 2 dlc, but it was still good. I don't regret playing it, I liked the game a lot and am working on the Platinum for it, but I do regret buying it for $60. But hell, I'm probably already sold on buying Uncharted 4 first day. And there are other games that are pushing the "dlc as full game sequels" a lot harder than uncharted. CoughcoughAssassin's Creed
edit: I think what hurt the game the most was, as others have said, is how lackluster it was. It had so few epic moments.Spoiler: show
Slightly off-topic, but I really don't understand that criticism. Imo, each Assassin's Creed game has been leap and bounds better than the previous one. 2 was better than 1; and Brotherhood was better than 2. I'm hoping Revelations will follow the trend.
I agree; I too enjoyed Uncharted 2 more than 3, but I wouldn't say 3 is a bad game.
Jesus Fuck how do you beat the convoy level on Crushing.
edit: Ohh good ole BG rule: If you complain about not being able to beat something, on your next attempt you shall be successful!
Now I think I'm really fucked though... The last Djinn fight...
I have Tau Sniper and rpg which is apparently a bad choice, but I got stuck with it. I'm lucky if I can kill a single Djinn with both my rpg shots (even if I hit it), and Tau does crappy from far away, but I pretty much get killed in 1 hit by their shotguns and explosions and there are so many of them there is 0 safe cover for more than 2 seconds.
edit: seriously... what. the. fuck....
Posted that and then beat it next try...
Grenade launcher/Tau sniper made all the flame head guy fights on crushing a breeze. I struggled much more on other shootouts with regular guns.
ding; Beat it on Crushing. I got all my treasures this run too, so now I just have to do the easier cleanup trophies.
Most annoying is probably just gonna be killing 75 in a row without dying and always manual reloading for 50 kill. I'll just try to do those 2 and Side Arm Master at the same time on easy.
Also killing 2 people with a throwback grenade as that seems more of a luck thing.
I accidentally got 50kill no auto reload farming other trophies using a sniper riffle and a tau sniper, apparently running out of bullets and restarting checkpoint counts as not auto reloading.
You can just reload a checkpoint and it keeps your count? Wonder if it works for kills as well.
hmmm I got the find all 100 treasures trophy, but chapter 22 says I'm missing one still.
This times a fucking million. I enjoyed the game and will platinum it eventually, but I don't believe at all that it deserved the praise it received. I just wasn't drawn in during this game as much as 2 and I felt even the first game had a better story. Ending was totally lackluster to me. I was reallllly looking forward to killing him, but was extremely disappointed in the way it played out. Totally agree with the point that it felt very disjointed. And the fact that they didn't just kill Drake and Co the 23895734589 chances they had drives me nuts. I said to my GF when they were shot in the beginning of the game that finally a villain has done it right. The story was also extremely unoriginal and uninspired compared to 2. There's only so many times the bad guys can just simply follow the good guys into the puzzle filled temple before you wonder why Drake and co just don't wait and ambush the bad guys.
