um, anyone encounter this particular bug:
My level is suddenly set to 1, all my money is gone, I still have my gear, I'm not sure if quests are working on not, some of the events that were supposed to trigger at citadel aren't etc. I have a backupsave, so I'll just restore it if it doesn't "sort itself out", but I'm somewhat irked.

It happens. The autosave from resume is broken. Save often and load from saves rather than use continue.

Shepherd is not a tragic hero. A common debate I see is between people who think there should be a happy ending and people who think such an ending would be out of place or impossible, sometimes refering to Shepherd as "tragic". The simple fact is, Shepherd has no tragic flaw nor does he make a tragic mistake; had such a tragic characteristic existed, it could be a foregone conclusion he would die. Overcoming the Reapers may be an impossible task, but the impossible is
routinely overcome in the Mass Effect trilogy and other epics. As is, there is nothing in the story that would railroad Shepherd towards an inevitable demise, the difficulty of his task makes his death likely, but there's nothing that should remove the possibility of a happy ending. This may be why many people want a "happy" or "brighter" ending, there's no setup nor payoff to Shepherd's death and without those it may feel cheap; storytelling is all about setup and payoff.

For an example of a good tragic hero, look no farther than Mordin Solus. His tragic mistake was the creation of the genophage. When a desperate need for krogan intervention arose and the genophage was the reason they refused, Mordin fulfilled his tragic role by sacrificing and redeeming himself. There's a big setup for the genophage throughout the series and Mordin's involvement is setup in the second game as a huge internal conflict for him. In three, this all pays off beautifully with either his redemption or brutal murder at Shepherd's hands before he can succeed. This is proper execution for a tragic character. From what I've seen, this is one of the most beloved and well-received storylines in the game; compare that to the ending's reception.

I've gotten the error many times, but after a few seconds, the funds return w/o restart. On PC anyways...

Three specter packs. I always get refunds when I click on the store again so didn't think it was much of an issue. But instead this time my money just went away without me picking anything.

Edit: raged so I bought a few bioware points to make up for it. Lost 360. F it.

Servers seem effd atm. Lagged more than ever before 2 matches in a row and store D/C me. Perfect timing as the bonus JUST started... But, all weekend to get a reaper win and you only get rewarded for ONE win...

woo cleared it now to get my vanguard back up to 20 again for more silver action, tried human soldier just doesn't seem to give off the fun that vanguard does.

Over course Soldier isn't as fun as Vanguard. Vanguard is OP as all hell.

Frag Grenades are fucking awesome. I got the Revenant assault rifle earlier and it has a huge clip, I think 90 right now with the capacity mod on. I abuse Adrenaline Rush functioning as an automatic reload and never have to reload the thing. Soldier is really fun like that, especially on Bronze where you can be ballsy as hell. Haven't tried it on Gold yet but it works decent on Silver too. Maxed Frags, almost maxed Adrenaline Rush (don't wanna make the duration too long since I want the cooldown to be as quick as possible and it doesn't start until Rush wears off) and maxed Weapon Damage, delicious. I really wish I had the BF3 soldier though, Concussive Shot is fucking garbage.
