It pains me greatly to see fans go this far to try to make this bullshit ending into something salvageable. It's clear that Hudson and company never intended this to be anything but the definitive final end, and are now using the fan desperation to quell the backlash. Everyone knew going in that this ending was going to be bad, even the devs, but Hudson had his head up his ass.

Pretty much this. It saddens me to see people posting, trying to convince themselves of the greater meaning or the hidden message in the endings. There isn't one. It was just poor writing and poor execution. Nothing is going to change that. And the longer Bioware remains silent on the official word the more and more fans are becoming angry and disillusioned with the product. Regardless of the whether they change the ending or not, I will most likely not purchase another ME game. From the Day 1 DLC, to the massive fuck you Bioware sent it's fans, to the continued silence of the devs, that's all for me.

This is the first ever Bioware game that I've not rushed to do a 2nd playthrough. In fact, I don't want to touch this game with a 10 foot pole right now. I loved the 99% of the campaign, but the ending really chapped my ass. I don't even care about seeing alternate stuff in the game.

I'm the same way. I've been putting some good hours into multiplayer, but I've only just gotten off mars for my second story playthrough. This is a week and a half since I finished it the first time. I was pretty utterly disgusted with the ending.

I actually dont have a problem with the Reapers thinking to be honest.

They destroy the most advanced organics, in order to prevent a master race of synthetics from being created (HAYYYY GETH). Which in turn will prevent any organic life from flourishing or developing at all, extinguishing what made the galaxy unique. I still dont see why everyone was so up in arms about it.
