I really can't imagine any scenario where they would change the ending of the game. That just isn't going to happen. The dev team that worked their asses off on that (kinda lame) ending would riot if they did that. The "filling in the gaps" idea is the best thing they can do.

It's actually faster to wipe after getting the money in round 10 than fully completing it

Round 10 definitely is the cash round.

I think this is the best way to go about it.

The whole dark energy plot was stupid from what I read im glad they didn't use it and its only in 2 it became significant at all and just once as a subplot and thats with that one star during talis mission
People only prefere this ending to the one we got because its different not because its better

3:The premise that God Child speaks to you about, the overwhelming need for synthetics to destroy all organics makes no sense and is very convoluted in a lot of sense (insert Xzibit picture here) not to mention that Mass Effect 2 and 3 basically show you that it is indeed possible for synthetic life to coexist with organics and not every cycle is doomed.
You quite clearly, like many people, misunderstood what he was saying, I think it could and should of been expained better quite obvously.
But It does not matter that some synthetics can coexist with organics since he is talking about a Technological singularity and the Existential risks is will have on all organic life. such as a Self-Improving Artificial Intelligence with unpredictable goals like a human that doesn't necessarily hate organic life but is indifferent to it and will see all organic life as just a bunch of atoms that could be better put to use as something else or just competitor for resources.
If the reapers goal is to preserve organic life then disregarding morals and using machine/villian logic the most optimimal solution is to wipe out advance cillvilations every once in a while to stop them from eventualy being a risk to all organic life, It kind of like mowing the lawn can't let that grass get too long or you'll end up with a fucked up garden.

I had many problems with the ending but the reapers motivation was not one of them

4:Concerning the synthesis ending, it goes against everything the series has been based around, which is that through diplomacy and choice, all races can come together to coexist without having to conform to a single standard...instead this ending is basically Shepard saying "fuck everyone, I make the choices, and negating any freewill of the entire universe"
I found the idea of synthesis pretty dumb and out of leftfield, I dont even get the concept of what being half synthetic half organic acturrly is (It certainly isn't as simple as being a cyborg like shepard) and how it solves anything.

    From the ingame Codex(Secondary)

On FTL drives: If you were to suddenly, uncontrollably drop from FTL space, besides the destruction of your ship, you would be hit by radiation and die from poisoning. It says so right in the game codex, how exactly does joker survive?

Ugh, just one more piece of stupid.

I did replay the game though, to try and better understand the motives for the ending. In the start, it's actually revealed that the fleet you're building is for the one swift action needed to successfully activate the Crucible - the galaxy is totally, completely, screwed.

Though, it does reveal in the codex that multiple (3+) ships, close range high-heat weapons, and the transit in and out of orbit are weakpoints in reaper defenses. There have been successful reaper kills already throughout the galaxy... would a war work without the Crucible?
No. It also reveals the reaper's main gun one-hit kills even the toughest dreadnought defenses - a conventional strategy would be endless banzai charges against small numbers of reapers. Even with overwhelming firepower against one reaper, the laser outranges the most effective conventional weapons - High heat lasers and Thanix plasma missiles.

    Spoiler: show
It's just disappointing to find out all of that "After the Reapers are gone..." work you laid out is all for nothing. There's a broker terminal entry that hints about how the crucible "is designed to make range irrelevant", supposedly by incorporating the Mass Relay network. The Crucible uses the Reaper's own relay network to spread the blast - presumably some "space magic" keeps the effect of the blast limited to the Catalyst decision, not the "destroy-everything" supernova it is assumed to be. Still, a terrible weapon to end an even worse fate.

There are communication buoys arrayed throughout the galaxy for sending data - separate from the Relay system - connection to the earth buoy was severed when the Reapers attacked. So at least it won't be long before the races of the galaxy collectively realize just how shitty life is without the Relays.

I understand that in a sense, but like others have voiced, my Shepard would have said "fuck no" and cock slammed the kid in the face before tossing him off the Citadel. (renegade option I think).

I mean you get told this and your Shepard just goes

Does it not seem like a Technological singularity has already taken place? The Reapers are mowing the grass ie. you, and you're fighting to break it. So he's like "We have to kill you or machines will kill you!" - sounds like these computer overlords had a runtime error. His argument about the Quarians and the Geth are dated if you did Paragon correctly.

All the more reason the Paragon ending should be Shep coming to sense, saying "Fuck your singularity, that's what you lord over us. Your desire for control is your limit! My drill is the drill that pierces the heavens!" and proceeding to "destroy the reapers" ending.

If the ending has to be that sad, well... you knew the Crucible was a risk - from building it, protecting it, delivering it effectively, and trying to stop it from eradicating you in the process. You also knew it was the only viable chance to stop the reapers, and that's the price you had to pay. "Was it worth it?" is what the ending seems to be asking me, which is kind of a dick question to leave someone with after a full trilogy-worth of gaming.

Because the game never really gets around to telling you in the ending. Bad things proceed to happen - the reapers are gone but at what cost? It's left up to the gamer to decide what implications of their actions was, and if you actually get into the lore so far, they're really big implications. What exactly have you done? Some parts of the ending genuinely make no sense - the Joker flying away part (not plausible. not survivable. not even very nice - just a sad scene overall). A man and a boy in the future reminisce about "the Shepard" from seemingly long ago.

"Was it worth it?" Fill in the blanks among yourselves - and buy some DLC!, says the text message.

    Just a thought.

The more I read on the Indoctrination theory the more and more I come to realize that THIS will be what Bioware latches onto and claims was the plan all along, all the while creating new DLC ending content for people with true endings...which is complete shit unless the DLC is free to begin with...and complete shit even if it is free as it sets a precedent for this type of behavior down the road.

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ythY_GkEBck

After watching this video there are certain things that seem like stretches to me

    Spoiler: show

Why didnt Anderson hear the kid? Because Anderson went through the door and Shepard doubled back and looked into a vent, where the kid was a good 4 feet in, whispering to Shepard while the outside world was being blown apart.

Why didn't the Reapers defend the beam? They..they did. They sent down Reapers and Harbinger himself to stop you, there were only 20 or so marines on the ground rushing and 2 bursts of the laser almost killed everyone instantly.

How come Shepard didnt evade the laser like on Rannoch? Because it states that Harbinger is in a class of his own as a Reaper, possibly the first Reaper ever, his laser has no delay on it and is immensely powerful, not to mention you fought a Reaper destroyer on Rannoch which is more a ground warmachine and not a full fledged Dreadnought.

Why did people retreat? Jesus Harbinger just blew up the entire "this is all our nothing" rush. It's understandable that panic would sweep whoever was left over.

I like to think that the reapers were created by an AI who was made by the earliest advance civilization with the Fail-safe of protecting organic life something akin to the three laws of robotics only it had a different interpretation of this law than its creators did and decided wiping them out and then starting the reaper cycle was the best way of 'protecting' organic life

It's interesting how much attention Forbes is paying to this. The theory reeks of the whole 9/11 conspiracy in a way, or any other conspiracy for that matter.

I like how it's alleged and all that, though how someone would know the inside workings of Bioware AND be posting from the guys account that isnt him, is kind of unbelievable.

that was already debunked earlier today by bioware on the BSN. Statements are fake.

I know they said someone signed up on the forums with the same user name.. but how did this exactly go down? It's not like someone could sign up with the exact user name and from what I have read the guy had an active account on those forums already?

I mean was it like someone posting on these forums with username Vrumpt and going "blah blah blah", or was it someone posting under the username Vrupmt?

No idea, but when this popped up on BSN, Bioware senior community coordinator Chris Priestly said this:

So, I saw this and went and asked Patrick about it.

    Patrick didn't write this.

No one is getting banned or anything for posting this, but I want you to know it is not real. Just an imitation.
    and that was that.

Hmmm *shrug* that's up in the air to me, but who knows and speculating on that is almost as bad as Indoctrination theory speculating so whatever lol.

That or Patrick is actually Indoctrinated irl.... >.>

You sound as bad as the people in that thread I told you to stay away from. People have emotions, they aren't robots. Its obvious the extreme ignorance people have towards the employees at Bioware as human beings is taking a toll on them, and thats just sad. not for the employees, but for human race in general to ignore other's humanity like that.
