Well nothing should seem bad on bronze, lol. It is a good shotgun, it's just outclassed in every category by the GPS. I've used it very little though, I'm bad about testing out new weapons extensively because after the first wave I want my other gun back.

I played Drellguard a lot last night. It's really fun to play, I just wish they could buff the shields a little bit. It's a finesse run-and-gun class anyway, but if I even see something like a turret in the open and it starts firing, I'm dead before I can move. I spec'd all weight capacity and heavy pistol weight decrease upgrades, and now I can use either the Carnifex with +200% cooldown or the Talon with +170%. Was wrecking pretty hard.

I like Damage, Range and Explosive Blades for Ballistic Blades. I haven't messed with Cone Spread instead of Damage for the first upgrade, but if you can see an enemy on screen it's wide enough that it's gonna hit them, so I don't see it being very useful...

Other stuff is preference I guess. Mine atm is specced for melee with maxed out Blade Armor, but if I was to redo it I'd probably ignore Blade Armor entirely and max out Inferno Grenades instead. Maybe ignore some levels in Fitness for the sake of a few levels in Blade Armor. You can do pretty ridiculous damage with +90% melee and +75% temp boost from killing something with Heavy Melee, but as you can probably guess it's rarely useful on Silver/Gold, just fun for dicking around with. It is amusing punching a Brutes head clean off though... coolest melee animation in the game for sure.

Would recommend Recharge over Range since the batarian in general is a close combat character in general, you just have to adjust. The cone is preeeetty amazing though. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EHrilly6ymI. The radius boost is just insane. Exploding is a obvious upgrade to. Oh and don't ignore inferno grenade. Blade plus free insane dot grenade makes the batarian a killing beast.

That video is retarded. I can see a very rare occasion cropping up where the cone will help you hit, but it hits basically anything on your damn screen and you're not gonna look away when you fire like he is. I know he's just trying to demonstrate the extreme, but you have a good second or so after hitting the button to adjust your aim even further if you need to. And I disagree on taking recharge over range, helps a ton on Silver and Gold where you can't always afford to come out of cover to get in the enemies face. I messed with it a little both ways and will take range every time I respec from now on for sure. It's a huge increase (12m -> 18m) and is very noticable.

Yeah I like Infernos on the Krogan was just wondering if people sacrifice them a bit for other stuff on Batarian. I guess I'll go for cone after seeing that (nerfed by Tuesday obv).

Tried GPS again and I just can not get in to it at all. I have every shotgun except Crusader and I prefer any of them over GPS.

Tried hosting a game and using it? Non hitscan weapons like to act funky with lag. Makes the new Harpoon sniper a pain in the ass to use sometimes too.

First game with the soldier: was having way too much fun with Blades to notice there was 1 second left on extraction. GPS was better hosting, maybe I'll go horses for courses with it.

so what does promoting your class actually do? besides resetting it to lv 1 and letting you keep skilling up your N7 rank

It can be a decent barometer for how good someone is based on experience. I like to use one race exclusively up to 20, promote, then try a different race on the same class. Best way to figure out what to put points into, and you can re-spec the original race you tried.

Does anyone know if you use one of the skill point reset items, does it take away the point in the "main" skill, like fortification for Krogan Soldier or Tech Armor for Sentinels?

Yes, though don't use one unless you really want to (I leveled I think the new geth engineer with out the main skill and maxed out the other two by using a respec card) because if you don't have three, its one more gold card you'll have a chance at getting rather than something better next time you buy a pack

Good to know. Really dumb they force that point on you since it would mean I could never promote the class without wasting the card.

It's the Korean "free to play" mmo model EA is inserting into everything the developers will let them. Don't let anybody buy *ANYTHING* they want directly, ALWAYS make them pay for a chance at it, then make the chance as small as possible. Hello massive amounts of microtransactions.

Pretty much guarantee at this point EA making far more off the micros than the game itself.

It *IS* on Bioware allowing them to do it, btw. A few EA partners wouldn't let them do it recently, but you'll see it in every single actual EA game (tiger woods, fifa, etc.) and any others where the devs give them the ok. Meanwhile a tiny studio like 38 was able to refuse to use that ridiculous system for their micros.

All it's a decent barometer for is how much someone plays. I've played with plenty of people with 4 digit N7 ranks who are garbage. A lot of playtime doesn't make you good unfortunately.

It was a really good judge at first when most people were 10-30 and obviously hadn't learned the basics yet by looking at their gear/equipment.

If he means the single skill point in the first skill. No, it does not reset it to zero. You always have a single point in the first skill no matter what you do.

Rhyis, you sure? Using a power reset card removes all allocated points. If you promote a class, the first skill point is used, in my experience (and I've used about 15 reset cards, so unless I'm brainfarting, I believe this is the case)

Yeah I'm almost certain as well that it does clear it off, that's like the only reason to even bother using one really.

Just reused one now and you guys are right. It must have been changed at some point because when I first used it, I was hoping Turian Sent would drop tech armor since I prefer a power build. I remember being extremely pissed off about it.

Makes them much more useful now.
