I figure all new copies will have a online pass so they encourage you to buy a new copies rather than just being CE exclusive. Mass Effect having online multiplayer seems weird but it might be cool.

Why would the CE have online pass as a selling point if the normal version had it too?

Well look at this; http://www.swtor.com/preorder. Notice that the CE lists all the stuff you get in the two cheaper versions of the game as well as it's own exclusives and the stuff you get with any preorder.

Online passes (read: EA ones) are in new games, CE or not. I think they are just trying to trick people into pre-ordering and getting it, despite the normal version getting it too.

Good on them. But I knew from all the word gymnastics Casey Hudson had been doing over the last year that there was going to be some sort of multiplayer component. Whether is co-op or full on versus, it's a welcome addition as far as I'm concerned.

I'm hoping it's just something extra like Uncharted 2's multiplayer and not really a big part of the game. Although it's sounding like theres a bunch of story co-op too..
