Yeah. Smash is a ton of fun but when you're standing in the middle of two phantoms it's probably not going to end well.
Yeah... I didn't like the Phoenix Adept much for that reason. Lash is fun but Smash is hard to use effectively.
I tried out the Human Soldier concussion shot build finally, holy shit is it fun to play. Scores really well too.
It's amazing how quickly you can take out grunts with lash. And as for smash, if you spec it right, you can really hurt the big enemies, and i find it's best used when you take cover behind a corner since it goes through walls. It's also great if you got a human vanguard with you.
I was using Smash against the larger enemies from behind boxes etc. It takes a pretty good chunk of damage away. And yeah, the Concussive Shot build is crazy fun to use. Just launching people all over the place. Still, Engineer is my favorite class. I will say that I was impressed with the Male Quarian Infiltrator. Tactical Scan came in very handy when I was doing random golds the other day.
I really want to try a run with two phoenix adepts, one human vanguard, and one asari justicar with warp bubble to see how it goes. One time in gold i landed with one other phoenix adept and one human vanguard and it was the tits, but it was not sustainable due to too much damage being taken by us.
Not as viable on adept, but I found a tremendous amount of longevity on Phoenix vanguard last night by timing your heavy melee to cancel the frames of smash after it hits. You are slightly more mobile, the attack damages enemies that have been knocked over, and the time spent stunning enemies is just shy of a decent cooldown on biotic charge. I would smash, heavy melee, retreat, smash, charge, which was enough to live through clusters of not just geth troopers but hunters / pyros, and pretty much any carebears around. I finally fell against turrets. Fucking turrets.
Hmm I'll have to try that out. Fuck turrets.
I got Quarian Infiltrator (M) and Crusader (Mk. III awwww yeahhh) from Victory pack (ie: global reward) compared to it having consumables only before. The victory pack description wasn't a typo then. I haven't received my Commendation pack yet but seeing as I only played Vorcha over the weekend I guess they haven't been given out yet.

Nice saber damage increase and talon weight reduction. They should have just added 80% DR during smash or something, I guess heavy risk works for the priiiiiiize. Shockwave should be acceptable now with that range.

Got the Eagle in my free pack this weekend, not really sure I like it over the Phalanx tbh. The rapid fire is nice but it doesn't feel as effective to me.

Meh. Still no Valiant. Phoenix puts out a lot of damage from what I've played so far, and Hurricane III is just silly amounts of bullet-flavoured death.

Sitting at Valiant I, Hurricane II, Crusader IV. Someone tell me that the recoil on the Eagle is beastly and not worth using, because with the recent damage buff from patch, an automatic pistol looks way hotter than this slug-firing shotgun.
