Have not yet gotten cabal or collector.
Geth Juggernaut heavy melee is so satisfying.
not a fan of the cabal. I want the Geth Juggy!
Is the unlock for the new adept class broken? Ive spent close to my entire 3.5+ mil credits on a combo of PSP and reserve packs and while I got a ton of everything else, not 1 adept unlock yet. Is it related to not having "from the ashes" or whatever perhaps?
^Ah, thank you.
I dont really like the Geth Juggernaut but the Krogan Warlord is fucking incredible. The biotic Hammer is sooooo OP. I cant imagine they wont nerf it.
My thoughts so far
Geth Juggernaut
Juggernaut is great fun, I recommend filling your boots with it before the inevitable nerf bat hits.
I'm not completely decided on what powers to pick yet, Siege Pulse feels like the must-have power. The Hex Shield can be useful but I find myself using Siege Pulse and its longer cooldown more often. Turret set up for shield regeneration could enhance survivability even more.
Rank 6 of Hardened Platform (Fitness) looks interesting, you get Squad Command: melee dmg+30% and all allies (not including yourself) within 4 metres of you get +10% dmg. Other option is Power Transfer where you get a massive +75% health and shields (so 2.3k health and 4.6k shields), +50% shield restoration from heavy melee (for a total of 925 shields restored per second) for the caveat of all your damage being reduced by 15%. I'm leaning towards Power Transfer because of the survivability of draining that much shield whenever you need it and 85% of a Claymore X is still quite a lot of damage.
Krogan Warlord
I really really want to like this kit. I probably need to re-spec it with tech armor and lose the electric hammer.
Biotic hammer can do huge damage, easily kills a Brute in 2 uses on Silver, playing him as host should also help a lot. He has god-tier rage that lets him regenerate lost health segments too but the fact he can get sync-killed makes playing the way he is designed so risky; making him just a novelty for bronze/silver. I know making him immune like the Juggernaut would make him overpowered but maybe allowing him to be revived after being smashed by a Brute would help because if you play him how they showed in the demonstration you will spend a long time observing your squadmates.
Cabal Vanguard
I think this kit is quite fun. Poison Strike doesn't need a target to be used so it is great on tight maps like Glacier or White for getting around extremely quickly. Doesn't do huge damage and poisoning mobs seems like it can be a bit hit or miss but I prefer it to having yet another vanguard with Biotic Charge. I didn't spec in to Nightshade Blades yet so can't comment on them.
Biotic Focus is a very powerful ability at rank 6 as it can restore 40% of your barrier and make you invincible for 0.5 seconds. Usually this is long enough to use a teleport dodge to get out of harms way. It also has a very short recast so you can keep the buff up almost constantly for the dmg reduction, speed boost and melee boost it gives.
Heavy melee can be useful as it can teleport you quite a distance to close down something dangerous like a Ravager, melee and then grab some cover and heal with Biotic Focus. One problem with the melee is that 30% of the damage is deferred and dealt as DoT.
Talon Engineer
This guy is all kinds of bugged, and is really frustrating to play at the moment. He looked seriously good when the devs were showing him off but something has gone wrong in release.
He doesn't have the correct amount of ability points available and while you are looking at the ability screen you can hear the sound of him regenerating his grenades lol.
The Cain trip mine is brilliant, the one good thing about him. Huge damage and very satisfying when you blow a whole fresh spawn of mobs with it.
The omni-bow is too weak even when fully-focused (which it takes too long to do on a relatively squishy character). The arrow powers don't seem to register correctly; at least not when you are playing off-host.
His over-cover grab doesn't work, he just breaks from the cover to get shot at. Grenades regenerate too slowly, especially now that there are so many other kits that also use grenades. Other bugs that are well-reported include not being able to use ammo refill consumables (I was able to 1/3 games) and this kit overriding any custom key-bindings with the defaults.
Only just unlocked the infiltratorobot, not played yet. Not got the collector adept yet (i rolled an ultra rare kit but it was a volus). Only new gun I have is the Blood Pack SMG which is very underwhelming for an ultra-rare.
What's the best next step after grinding recruit packs for 'X' versions of the basic weapons? I think I have three or four upgrades to go before I cap out.
I've barely touched the MP (at least compared to most of the people still posting in here) and I'd like to try out some of the other race options, but I have generally shitty weapons and I don't tend to play a lot of FPS, so my skill isn't that great.
Gold runs are probably out of my reach at the moment , and Platinum definitely is.
Any advice?
kind of answered it yourself, if you can't do gold or platinum, then don't.
Your class selection is going to matter just as much, if not more, than your gun selection. In the starter kits, human adept and sentinel have awesome potential for completing biotic detonations all by themselves - this gives you a constant damage source that has nothing to do with your guns. If you aren't great at the gunplay aspect to begin with, get good with the cover mechanic and start learning to do those biotic detonations by yourself. You'll wreck silver in no time, have plenty of money for the next tier of packs, and get rare guns / equipment; from there, gold will be manageable.
Geth Juggernaut is very fun. Seems a little OP though - especially fighting other Geth where you can get delicious shields with every enemy stupid enough to get close. Awaiting the nerfstick, but I'm going to enjoy every second of it until it comes crushing down.
Geth Juggernaut and the new Krogan guy with the big hammer are way, WAY OP. Wouldn't be surprised if its nerfed within the week. Also, having the Awakened Collector as a teammate on a map when you are fighting Collectors gets freaking confusing. What would be the storyline reason for having a Collector as an ally anyway? Somehow broke away from Harbinger's indoctrination?
Not played Leviathan myself
In other words, after vorcha and volus (but not elcor)being 'elite' fighters:
![]()
fucking turian councilor.
So the Collectors are good guys now? Except for all those thousands we still have to kill in MP? Riiiiiight.
oh yeah, I'm sure it reaaaalllly shakes the tremendous depth of story you get out of multiplayer
I'll gladly break the fourth wall, because there's a badass collector who shoots green death orbs behind it!
