You got your knights in my space game! You got space game in my knight-thinger!
Wait—might these be two great tastes…that taste great together? The two EA franchises are going to be working together to give gamers some of that great taste pretty soon.
On January 17, the Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning demo will be available for PC, Xbox 360, and PlayStation 3 gamers. Playing the demo will offer exclusive, Amalur-inspired in-game items in Mass Effect 3, and playing the forthcoming Mass Effect 3 demo will give you ME3 in-game items for Amalur.
According to the press release published by Electronic Arts today, gamers will get Reconer Knight Armor and the Chakram Launcher in Mass Effect 3 after playing the Amalur demo. Both items were designed by Mr. Spawn himself, Todd McFarlane. The armor will “maximize damage done in close-quarters combat while a beefed–up power cell feeds energy into weapon systems to increase projectile velocity,” while the launcher “uses a fabricator to manufacture lightweight, explosive ammunition discs.”
For playing the Mass Effect 3 demo, gamers will earn the N7 Armor and Omniblade Daggers. The armor is inspired by Shepard’s armor, “including Helm, Cuirass, Gauntlets, Chausses and Greaves,” while the daggers allow “players to stab enemies in close combat.”
Playing the ME3 demo will also give Amalur players the Twist of Fate Card, the Twinned Souls Chakram, and the Infernal Helm…so lots of free stuff to love, all for playing a demo of a game you’re probably going to want to buy anyway.
