Day1 Dlc is bullshit but unfortunately most people fall into either A preordered collectors edition and don't care or B

outside of sales DLC usually stays at a constant price
Xbox Live does deals every week, sometimes on DLC. At one point I think all the ME2 stuff was 50% off. Dunno if they'll do any deals on Origin or PSN but it's likely at some point in future there'll be a sale on ME3 stuff for XBL, but it could take a while!
3-4 years later and people are still crying about DLC, if you don't like it, don't buy it, stop crying on the internet.
and half of the people who bitch and moan about it go and buy it anyways. one way or another people need to man up and either stick to their guns, or realize it's not going to change and continuing to complain about it accomplishes nothing other than making you look like a whiny twat.
People will stop bitching about it when companies stop shitting on their customers. EA is probably the worst offender so it's no surprise either way, but they're progressively getting worse and worse. People complaining about it is a good thing. It's the only thing that will get their attention short of nobody buying it (which is never gonna happen). You guys bitching about the complainers is even worse than the people complaining themselves (though you're still above those who actually defend their shitty practices at least!). Practice what you preach and stop being whiny twats.
Game is still gonna be badass.
Not saying its right, but so many games do day 1 DLC.
An EA game does it and shitstorms abound.
There was a question about waiting for it to be cheaper to possibly buy, ME2 was the example that waiting doesn't matter on DLC prices like it does on the original game.
Between the free DLC I got with the PC version and the DLC that was on the PS3 version I rented, I think I played most of the ME2 DLC, never bought any that I may have missed. (bought PC after renting ps3)
Best thing you can do about it is speak with your wallet. Don't buy the game. Pirate the shit out of it.
I've had the CE pre-ordered for over a month, so this whole DLC fiasco doesn't concern him.
Having said that, the reason it's so hard to sympathize with the "day 1 DLC is evil!" camp is because a decent chunk of their argument is based on this DLC being cut from the actual game....which they have zero proof of. I know about the files they found in the demo, that isn't finished content. Likewise there was random Kasumi files in "ME2" long before her DLC was released....it's hardly the smoking gun people make it out to be.
This is further complicated by Bioware repeatedly telling people "this wasn't cut from the game, it was finished by another team". etc. Which these same zealots label as lying. So not only do they have zero proof of what they're angry about, any info to counter it is seen as lies. This is the main reason it's hard to take them seriously.
Given the content, should this DLC have been in the game? Yes. But it's not.
Edit: Nvm, I'm gonna stay out of this lol.
yes because bitching about it has clearly proven effective so far. gaming is becoming as unpleasant to talk about as politics or religion because inevitably one side or the other starts ranting and raving and saying the other person is a moron. remember when games were just about having fun, and not getting your knickers in a twist?
