Didn't the "exclusive" content in B3 get shut down because of all of these "internet neckbeards" complaining en masse? And this was well before launch. Isn't B3 an EA product? Hell, the dude in that video even talked about it.

Before you start taking the easy route and sitting on your moral high chair laughing at everyone "complaining", perhaps you should at least acknowledge when said complaints actually spark a change? It may be a losing battle, but I'll never attack a target that isn't the enemy. EA is the enemy. These companies are the enemy. People that complain about policies and trends they deem unjust, but aren't picketing their local game company or spending money to lobby against them are not the enemy.

Its too easy to attack the average joe, but you usually take this stance, so color me not surprised.

PS: I was going to simply wait until I could get it for 5 bucks off of steam like I did ME 1 and 2 (and have barely played them, as they're average games at best), but I will certainly not be picking this up, so yeah, I am speaking with my wallet.

Mass Effect: Infiltrator is a third-person shooter developed by IronMonkey Studios for the iOS devices, and will eventually be released on devices using the Android OS.[1] Release is expected "around the time" of Mass Effect 3.[2]
Taking on the role of Randall Ezno[2], players will collect evidence of Cerberus crimes and free prisoners from hostile Cerberus bases.[3] During the course of the game, players will have the opportunity to make Paragon and Renegade decisions.[4] Upon completion, players will receive awards that will affect their Galaxy at War Galactic Readiness rating in Mass Effect 3. The game will also allow players to unlock exclusive weapons for use in Mass Effect 3.[5][2]

90% of these complaints started on the Bioware board. Which is notoriously out of touch with reality. They had similar complaints about "ME2", the Cerberus Network, the Kasumi DLC which was supposedly ripped from the finished game, etc. They swore they'd boycott the game, and it would flop, and receive terrible scores, and all this other dumb shit.

Meanwhile, out in the real world it sold close to 4 mill and is one of the most critically acclaimed games of this gen.

So yeah, "fighting the power" is awesome but I get the vibe that most of the people complaining about this shit are enamored with the concept of going against "DA MAN!", and would do it whether or not it makes sense. Like they did when "ME2" came out. Ironically most of the same BSN people that whined about "ME2" being the devil are crying about "the good old days of ME2" now that "ME3" is almost here.

Lastly, if you think "ME1" and "ME2" are average at best it's hard to take anything you say seriously. Especially about the series in question.

They're average to me. That doesn't make them bad games at all, but I wasn't blown away by ME2 especially. The series as a whole is doing some great things for plot-based gaming, but I don't think the series as a whole is anywhere near good enough to get away with nickel-and-diming of this magnitude.

As youve stated over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over again.

I just can't really imagine anyone thinking this series is "average". I am not a fan of day 1 DLC...but it's never going away so I have to accept it and move on. I just am not someone to bitch about life so much. These games have been amazing, I understand it's all a matter of taste, but I'm in this thread to talk to other people who enjoy this game...so why fill it with bitching?

So I've gotten into the multiplayer a good bit lately after thinking I wouldn't be into it. I have a level 16 human female infiltrator that I'm pretty good with (on bronze) and a level 11 Krogan soldier that I am trying to learn how not to die. lol Any advice on the multiplayer in general or those two classes in particular?

Infiltrators are easy. Cloak + snipe, stay away from vanguards that shake your screen with every ability and kill your aiming. Krogans should forget about guns for the most part and just sprint around the map charging/meleeing everything in sight for 1-shot kills (on bronze).

The full multi will have more enemy types that will accommodate all kinds of strategies, so get used to experimenting. After getting two 20's and then retiring until the release date, I just hope there is an easy way to respec so I wouldn't have to live with my mistakes forever XD

There's a "Reset Skills" button on the power menu, should be some way to do it in the full version. I'm really hoping the cap is higher than 20 too, for some classes it's so hard deciding what to max. Didn't know whether to go for shields/health or stasis on Asari Adept after maxing the good stuff. Though there's a "Promote Class" button or somesuch too that's unused in the demo, so maybe we get more skills or something too. I got 16 hours in the demo now... think I need to lay off and wait for release, I want more enemy types bad.

First game was amazing, took a lot of their KOTOR experience and foundation and improved upon it so much. so much fun. Then came ME2, gameplay improved a lot, everything else shit. Story was shit, mission screen was shit (what the fuck was the point), exploration was shit. I mean ME2 is still a good game, but they mainly turned it into a FPS with even less rpg elements, which isn't bad I guess for some people.

All I was doing on my Krogan was running around meleeing really...it was a lot of fun. I get myself in trouble easily though. Run into too big a group and get overwhelmed. I really suck at shooters. lol Infiltrator is easy-mode for me, but you need a decent group to defend you sometimes and I have had trouble getting that. I really want to try another race of infiltrator, but haven't unlocked any yet.

I really fell in love with ME1...I thought ME2 was really good, but not as great as 1. I really disliked shooters to this point in gaming altogether, so this is a big step outside of my comfort zone even thinking about playing this multiplayer...but I'm having fun with it, so they at least made shooters accessible to people who aren't normally into them, like me. I really like that they put a storytelling mode and an action mode in the game. I think that is one of the most interesting things anyone has done with difficulty in gaming. RPG mode for us RPG fans...action mode for people with no attention spans that love shooters. (which should introduce them to good storytelling and maybe even get them to try the full game and experience the RPG elements.)

    Stasis is the good stuff!

I can't wait for release. I'd really like to unlock Asari Vanguard. Stasis together with Charge seems pretty amazing.

Idk I kind of like how absolutely ridiculous Throw is. I use Stasis a lot but it doesn't seem like a big benefit by upgrading it aside from the Stasis Bubble from max upgrade. I maxed Warp, Throw and got all but the last upgrade to Justicar and I didn't know where to go from there. More Health/Shields or actually finish dumping points in Stasis. I think I'll just be able to max it too so I'm gonna do that since I don't really need more health/shields... I'm hoping the cap will be raised or something in full release so I can get both.

Finally got a Salarian lastnight (Infiltrator) just before I stopped playing, gonna try it out tonight. Energy Drain should be damn nice and I don't really like Cryo/Sticky Grenades on Human Infiltrator so... not losing out on much in my eyes.

Stasis on asari is class-defining. stasis>snipe or scope HS all day plus, toss your second biotic power at them in the bubble for an explosion that can buffed by your spec. I find the easiest thing to do is pick one of the 3 class powers and decide not to get it. Max everything else. I have only been playing biotic classes to 20, so a shared CD really kills the need for third power in my experience. I would choose push on my asari instead of warp if I could respec.

Then again, stasis might be less important on consoles with dual-stick aiming making HS unreliable.

Damn, I just did the last 3 side/scan planets and find "missions" on ME2 that I apparently didn't get to when I last played my save. My lvl 50ish vanguard is weak as sh*t compared to the guys I made in ME3 multi. My shields were still 350ish and I had garbage weapons. I must have made due, but to finish the missions now I was just spamming biotic slam and ducking behind cover to not die...

I might have to go back into multi to decide what class to be in ME3. Vanguard just got voted "never again."

I don't understand. You are comparing your ME2 character to the ones in ME3 multiplayer?

I don't like playing with Vanguards in multiplayer. They like to charge in on guys I am about to melee and kill, then they inevitably get themselves killed because they play it too aggressively. Vanguard is probably my favorite class to play in the regular game though.

I'm comparing how weak my character in ME2 is to ME3, yes. Maybe I just didn't realize it while playing ME2 because the only way to experience the other classes is to commit a dozen hour or more to rush through the story. I have had a taste of the others thanks to the ME3 multi demo and now realize that my ME2 vanguard is comparatively very fragile to other classes.

I had stopped playing the multi wihout trying all the classes to wait for release, now I was going to get back into it to decide a better (less fragile) class to be for the story of ME3 <- ... was the point of my original post you are referring to...

Ah ok. Yeah, the best thing about the multiplayer is probably being able to try out all of the classes.

I didn't really notice my Vanguard to be that fragile compared to my soldier in ME2. I played on hardcore and insanity so maybe that is why - any significant time out of cover and you are dead, regardless of class. With geth shield/barrier/fortification as your bonus power you have pretty good survivability.

Yes, and what I'm saying is you don't even need more than 1 point in Stasis to do this... upgrading it is largely pointless until the bubble at max points, that's a lot of points to drop for an upgrade. Sounds like you still use it far more than me though, I'll throw it out if a Centurion is getting too close for comfort or I see a Phantom, but otherwise it's generally Throw spam since it'll often 1 shot Assault Troopers. Anything else gets a few headshots with the Phalanx and then a Throw to finish them off. Warp is definitely the least useful of the 3, but I think it benefits more from putting points in to it than Stasis does. It's also really nice if I have to take on a mech by myself since I can do Warp > Throw > Warp > Throw for constant Biotic Explosions. In a dream situation I would want Singularity, Stasis and Throw I think. Or maybe Stasis, Pull and Throw. Pull is extremely fast cooldown, can pick up multiple dudes with it and then Throw them for a Biotic Explosion and shit ton of damage. Pull is also great for Guardian's since it removes their shield (though it's easy to Push > Headshot them a couple times, unreliable if you have other people trying to shoot it and restaggering it).
