Ah, rage! Get home from work this evening (live in UK) and see that the Royal Mail didn't put the game through my door. Only time I can collect it is Saturday morning, so frustrating!!!

A warning. Don't bother doing Rannoch until you get at least 90% reputation or else you are in the the most rage worthy disappointing event in the game.

That ending was hard to get through. I kept thinking I ONLY have two options! but if there is another way I will get it somehow lol.

A lot of people have been complaining about the plot, and I agree that it's not the best. But I think the game's atmosphere is brilliant. It has me gripped and makes me really want to keep playing in a way no game has done in a while. It's probably the DO OR WE'RE FUCKED feeling thats going on but I love it. I'm gonna be sad when I'm finished with it.


So to get the best ending I just have to get my Effective Military Strength bar maxed out right? I've been doing single player and it seems that should be easy enough. It's almost maxed and I'm only at Rannoch.

I cannot even begin to describe how wrong this guy is. Please see this chart:

I'm a game dev myself, and this chart is almost entirely correct. What likely happened is that the Prothean was being worked on up until a point where they had to start cutting features to make the code complete milestone. In the past before DLC, they would have simply ripped out everything relating to the Prothean, and some years down the line released an expansion pack with him. However, with DLC, they could finish the core part of the game, and then immediately transition into working on the Prothean again. Just because there are voice files and models on the disk does not mean the content is fully complete. I watched as I had to download extra data when I unlocked him. That voids out everything he is saying.

Now note, I have said NOTHING about charging $10 for it. I have no argument for or against that. But I feel I need to stop people from believing that Devs are withholding content because they can. We aren't.

A mission.

If you are clever enough you can scan while outrunning them. Even if they sit right on top of you it takes a few seconds to get "Critical Mission Failure." I've gotten pretty good at scanning systems on the run.

Sadly they spawn exactly on it and after I go in and scan they get me before I move. Meh live and learn.

Decays over time like 1-3% a day it seems. Quick online match will max it.

-LOL @ Conrad Verner showing up out of nowhere and taking a fake bullet for me
-Tali and Ashley getting drunk
-Shootin' the shit with Garrus

-I liked that Cortez being gay wasn't a huge deal, he just like, casually mentions he had a husband and talks about it ya know? Just glad they didn't stereotype it and have him be all "SHEPHERD I WANT YOUR COCK".
-Liked the new method of scanning versus how it worked in ME2.
-Squad banter greatly improved, I was fond of the particular exchange on Surkesh between Garrus and Liara when a Yahg broke out of its cage and Garrus joked that it could be the next Shadow Broker
-"Emergency induction tube..." "It's a straw." "EMERGENCY INDUCTION TUBE!"
-Probably more but all I can think of at the moment

-All those endings sucked, badly. You kill all the Reapers (and EDI, and your new Geth buddies) but die...or you assume control of the reapers and die...or you synthesize every organic in the galaxy (which isn't what the Reapers were doing in the first place >.>) and die...and in all of the endings you destroy all the mass relays? Wow, way to kill any chance for sequel or expanded universe. Thanks gigantic fleet for coming to save earth! I hope you enjoy living here forever now since the relays are gone! Especially you quarians, thanks for taking back your home world and spending the weekend there before coming to earth and getting stranded here! Yeesh. And don't get me started on the old guy and his kid in the post credits scene, lol...
-COMBAT ENGINEERS AND THEIR TURRETS! FUCK YOU!
-Codex entries for quests not updating as you go along in the quest like they did in previous ME games. I mean yeah, Google is a quick search away, but really?
-Aside from the opening sequence on Earth which was great, I'd say the music from ME2 was far, FAR superior
-Dream sequences with the kid? REALLY? I thought maybe as the game went on Shepherd would start seeing all the people he's lost in his dreams, like Kaidan/Ashley, Mordin, Thane, etc. but nope, just that kid that you meet for 30 seconds on earth.
-No confrontation with Harbinger at all? After all the shit talking he did in ME2 and we get nothing!
-No way to get Jacob killed...at least that I've seen, anyway.
-I really just wanted to bookend this with how much I hate all the endings with a fiery passion

I was out with my telescope tonight watching the stars, then something came to my mind:

When Reapers eliminate the whole galaxy every 50000 years, what is with the rest of the universe? Shouldn't it be about time other species from other galaxies out of the reapers radius got the technology to get to us?

I seriously loved the ending. It stayed with me I finished around 4 this morning and still haven`t started another run. I did what I did because by choosing the "Red" option I allowed Organics to choose their own future since they would finally be free to choose their own path not based on the technology of the past.

They'd still have to cross the intergalactic void first, likely at sub-luminal, to build a relay.
