"Originally, with the catalyst, the star child at the end of the game, I had written that much more in the guise of a investigative style conversation, where there is something he tells you but then, you get to ask a bunch of questions and you get your questions answered. Casey on the End Boss

On Deciding the End of the Game
The illusive man boss fight had been scrapped... but there was still much debate. 'One night walters scribbled down some thought on various ways the game could end with the line "Lots of speculation for Everyone!" at the bottom of the page.'

In truth the final bits of dialogue were debated right up until the end of 2011. Martin sheen's voice-over session for the illusive man, originally scheduled for August, was delayed until mid-November so the writers would have more time to finesse the ending.

And even in November the gameplay team was still experimenting with an endgame sequence where players would suddenly lose control of Shepard's movement and fall under full reaper control. (This sequence was dropped because the gaemplay mechanic proved too troublesome to implement alongside dialogue choices).

No hope

Same people who also said there was no multiplayer in ME3. I call BS. Bioware will do what they want if they think it'll make them money and will only tell the public when necessary.

As much as I've been burned by this as well, I fear it would be much worse if people could stick around for the 36k credit wave on gold, then just drop while keeping the $$ and leave anyone left to most likely lose. I promote so I do golds for xp as well and that would screw me over XD

So question about multiplayer: I've bought my fair share of all 3 different types of gear packs, and still have 0 sniper rifle modifiers (yet using a javelin). Is my best bet to get those via veteran packs, recruit or just continue getting more spectre packs?

Theres a list showing which mods come from which packs; look at that and must buy those til you get your mods.

There is now overwhelming evidence to support Shepard's indoctrination.

Beyond this evidence, it is unlike Bioware to drop the ball and give us an uncharacteristically bad ending at all. Rather, it is more likely they would pull off Shepard's indoctrination to give the player a literal feeling of how indoctrination works. Yesterday's "Final hours of ME3" app reveals they were in fact playing around with ways to show Shepard being indoctrinated. Further analysis of Bioware's actions support indoctrination with how even after all this revolt and outrage, they continue to hold strong with their statement of wanting more people to play the game before they talk about the ending. After everything that has happened this week, they are holding true to their plans.

Simple logic dictates that indoctrination is the most plausible and reasonable ending scenario, and that is why it is true. It just makes sense.

Operation Goliath
Citadel Allied Command is mounting a galaxy-wide operation to cripple the Reapers’ shock troops: the turian-krogan hybrids known as “brutes.” To flush out Reaper ground forces, N7 teams are deploying to engage the enemy in key theaters. Heavy reinforcements are expected anywhere fighting begins.

Community Goal: Inflict heavy casualties on Reaper “brutes” on March 16th, 17th, and 18th.

Community Unlock: If this goal is met, all N7 squads will be awarded a Victory Pack that can be unlocked the following week.

Squad Goal: Successful extraction from a Reaper-held zone at a Silver threat level or higher.

Squad Unlock: Your squad will be granted a Commendation Pack.

Welcome to the first N7 Challenge weekend!

Join your friends on line between 5 PM PST Friday, March 16 and 5 AM PST Monday, March 18, and take the fight to the Reapers like never before.
Any player who is part of a squad that beats the Reaper faction on Silver difficulty or better will unlock one Commendation Pack. This means that at least one member of the squad must be extracted at the end of the mission – this will earn all squad members the reward. Each player can earn a maximum of one pack, and each pack contains a random N7 Arsenal Weapon. Originally only available as single-player weapons via the N7 Collector’s Edition, these multiplayer variants will be exceptionally rare and are NOT obtainable through regular purchasable Reinforcement Packs. The Commendation Packs will contain one of the following guns at random: N7 Crusader Shotgun, N7 Eagle Pistol, N7 Hurricane SMG, and N7 Valiant Sniper Rifle.

Destroy as many brutes as possible – if the multiplayer community kills a combined 1 MILLION brutes within the hours of the challenge, ALL players will receive a Victory Pack as a reward.
