Cool, just wanted to make sure before I set down to grinding.

Lol I don't remember Dark Bahamut being such a pain. Guess I'll have some party member swapping to do.
I'm raging at the Sylph Cave in the main game atm. I don't remember ever having so much problems with it before, damn treasure room chests.
I typically stock up on Phoenix Downs + Hi-Pots, and hold L&R with dash and auto-battle on when I'm in a dungeon I don't like. >.>
Brings me back though, playing an FF where HP/MP/debuffs remain even after battle. Most modern RPGs streamlined to a fault.![]()
Didn't have many problems really (except trying to kill Asura without Reflect lol) but Dark Bahamut seems buffed up quite a bit. He starts with Megaflare killing 1-2 people (usually Edge but Rosa and Rydia happen to die at times), uses Reflect on himself and proceeds to nuke down every single character with Flare lol.
I want to swap Rydia with Porom and see if Shell, Haste and a second healer can do the trick. Rosa by herself can't really do much with Cecil's White Magic being useless again in this version.
I miss the DS abilities already.
can you still cast teleport with rydia in the underground crystal and skip the wall cave?
why does everyone hate the wall cave? if its the trap doors you know you can reflect ninth dimension back at it so that it'll kill itself rite?
Because when you go there in FFIV the only character who can cast Reflect, a 30 MP spell, is Tellah, which means you'll run out of MP in three casts...
And in TAY you don't have Reflect at all, nor reliable healing outside of items.
Oh never mind I got the Lodestone and Sealed caves mixed up.
But yeah anyway I never grind in FFIV so at that point my Rosa didn't know the spell.
Just started playing this on Saturday. I own all versions released in NA and I have no problem playing through it again... BEST GAME OF ALL TIME.. ALL TIME!
I like 6 better personally, 4 2nd, and 5 is my 3rd. But that's just me. Still a very fun remake, although I do miss the ability system from the DS version.
Yeah, the ability system was a nice addition. I also preferred the translation for the DS version over this one.
Someone please tell me that Edward's chapter on After Years really doesn't involve me backtracking through the friggen underwater cave to/fro Kaipo/Damacyan Castle more than twice.
I just skipped that chapter as soon as I was forced to play solo-Edward (who thought this was a good idea?).
It's not like you get anything good from that chapter, since Harley is hands down the worst character in the game.
I did notice that the intro videos for both FFIV and FFIV:TAY have the exact same pacing character-wise... at least for the first bit there.
My copy finally got delivered. Probably start this weekend. Has anybody noticed ANY additional load times on the UMD version? If so, I'll just rebuy it on psn to actually play (whenever that is back up)
