lol@ new level cap, considering how ass it was to get to the current one before the last patch and how much worse its gotten since, the lack of guildleves for rank50, and the lack of serious content, guildmark abilities or anything else for non crafting jobs don't expect level cap for awhile lol
Problems like what? Retainers? I'm sure they redirected the whole monkey squad on the issue already...You can expect to see a proper fix in 6 months.
Right now, most UI/gameplay issue could be hot fixed with some temporary tweak. What this game lack is content that involve the players, and these NM probably won't be the solution
Level cap implied additional missions, which is the only good thing in this game.
Instanced dungeon usually offer some of the best way to kill time (stuff like salvage, dyna, limbus, nyzul, dynamis, bc...etc)
Which is why it's a good thing it still won't cost a dime to play..What this game lack is content that involve the players, and these NM probably won't be the solution
I was kinda concerned about it since the updates were announced, NM's won't be enough content to make us pay. But we've known these things for 2 months already, nothing surprising here.
In other news I got 36 last night and Second Wind II, I think that constitutes beating the game for me.
There is a whole other update to be had by the end of this month. Just because the content isn't here 'rite nao' doesn't mean it is not coming.Details regarding the date and content of the second December version update will be announced in a future Topics post.
Tomorrow cannot come fast enough.![]()
Anyone expecting them to develop new content before the game is stabilized and released for PS3, I have some oceanfront property for you.
Can you get the papers ready? NMs and new Guildleves (depending on what they do with these) are new content in my eyes.
Also, this update is most likely using stuff that was finished or almost finished under Tanaka. New director guy isn't going to be able to change the game's direction or add anything major in ~4 days lol. Lets wait and see what is in store for the last update of 2010.
I think the biggest contributing factor right now that is causing people to leave the game is how SP is gained. While it was addressed last patch, it wasn't addressed correctly. Hopefully they have some ideas to remedy it.
Did leves yesterday with 4 friends, we got 45k SP in less than 3 hours. I love the change, I can do leves 5 times a week and get decent amount of levels and I alway hit surplus which I wish was removed. As far as party exp outside of leves, I wish it was improved but with the current mechanics and leve exp I'm actually having fun unlike before. I fuckin hated grinding for 10 hours in XI.
If levels are considered content, goddamn this game has a lot of content.
The GL reports are always so conflicting, some say it's good some say it sucks. I'm not gonna grind to test it myself though, lol. Makes me wonder whether there is even a need for a change. Especially.. if the r50 leves can make the 40-50 push more sensible.Did leves yesterday with 4 friends, we got 45k SP in less than 3 hours. The people complaining constantly about this game when they are clearly trying to right the ship should stop reproducing. Give it time, I realize this is a video game culture where we thrive on constant stimulation, but seriously shut up.
Obviously the solution to the lack of content is to add new empty areas and raise the level cap while leaving the first 50 ranks without anything to do.
Considering 99% of the playerbase is at rank 50 with multiple classes this should be their main objective.
i also don't really think there was much time for the new guys to do much for this coming update. i think the release of their future plans for the game will be far more critical than any update we could see in december. to be honest i saw update scheduled for tomorrow without looking at the content of the update notes and i was thinking "that'll be nice, but so what?" it's not this patch, or the next that really matters. it's the visions they have for their game and i really can't wait to see them.
that said, i expected a lackluster update and it looks like i'm not gonna be disappointed. either way it's hard to expect too much out of this coming patch given the immense amount of things they need to be fixing. but i'll give them then benefit of the doubt and say the (lack) of things coming out in december was due to the incompetence of the old regime.
I doubt march update plans have changed much. Is there a need for it? Shit looks pretty good already. Maybe they'll divide them in monthly patches or something, but nothing more.
But why we don't have to pay is probably because we have no idea what's coming after March, and that's what they have to tell us to convince us that the game isn't going down the drain with the new management.
They may just let us know through Lodestone, but vanafest would be so much cooler... y'know, if they had some early video footage about the shit they're working on behind the scenes and all. Gotta make it Hollywood style to impress us.
It's speculation only of course. Worst case they'll impress us with a new revolutionary F2P model and cash shop features.
This was suppose to be a content update mostly with mechanical updates on the side. It still might be, but who knows. I'd take more adjustments over content provided it's implemented by the end of the year. However, this totally tells you why leadership is being transferred. Some of the new systems that have been implemented I doubt were even tested across all ranks of progression and were using the players to do this instead. It would make sense though being that it's free to play.
Still, I don't like the feeling of being misled into being a beta tester. That's not how it fucking works. Get with it.
