Instead... how often can you ring the bells to receive a gift? It doesn't appear to be 1 game day...

I believe they said it is every 4 hours.

For example, if an adventurer returns to a bell 24 hours after receiving their last present, there will be three new presents waiting.

Yeah I thought it was 4 as well, and then I went back to Lodestone and found the update. Looks like the stealth changed the value.

Why do people ask for a torrent of the update? The game client updates itself. I am asking this out of curiousity and not sarcasm. I truely want to know.

Doesn't always update right. I JUST finished the update after starting it right away. While if you torrent it you can get in done right away.

Because the bittorrent client SE uses is slow as shit. I was only able to get 25KB/s off their client and I was able to get 2.5MB/s off another torrent hosted elsewhere.

So grab their torrent file and pop it into uTorrent?

The tracker and the torrent aren't bad, there's just some wonkiness built into the update client.

I don't actually understand this either, especially with a game as unfinished as this is. While outside torrents may be faster, I never had to wait any longer than 10~15 minutes with the normal updater.

There is something about my system's configuration that is incompatible with SE's updater or it is just plain lousy. Sometimes it runs ok but most of the time it just gets stuck and not moving.

On the contrary, when I use Azureus on the same system, I can finish the download in moments.

It depend when you download it I guess. Yesterday when I tried to dowload it the timer was saying 5h for downloading the update, I let it there for like 5-10 min and it was only at 1% then I used the Torrent (file was 250mb) and have it in 4-5 min so...

Same. It always starts out saying it's going to take 5+ hours but it's done in 5 minutes. Not going to bother messing with utorrent just to get in 2 minutes faster.

Glad to see some steps in the right direction, I know a lot of people who have been playing since launch are underwhelmed, but anyone who isn't at the very least impressed with how much S-E has improved in terms of acknowledging issues and showing that they are working to fix them compared to the early/mid XI days just has too much nerdrage to be pleased.

This. I downloaded it on my brother's PC directly from SE before servers went back up in about 3 minutes. When I got home about 4 hours later, I attempted to download it on my own. Yeah right; I gave up after 15 minutes at 0.03%.

There's nothing wrong with having another option for when SE's stuff is all backed up.
