Stats in Engineering was a joke. I had a 100% on everything until the final and know I did better than 60% on it. Should have had an A but oh well. Not looking forward to next quarter's Fluid Mechanics, Structural analysis, Surveying II, and Engineering Geology :/

4.0 in everything unless I get below an 80 on either my Calc 2 or Physics final which is pretty much impossible since my lowest test grade for either class is a 96.

Yea, I studied with my 89 and then found out, no graphing calculator. Dude was sarcastic as fuck so you never knew if he was lying. And there's a policy that no grad students will teach a class.

Ethics - Joke class, stopped going halfway through semester, got a 100% on participation, easy A
Linear Algebra - Joke class 2.0, our entire grade was one exam, which we took halfway through the semester. Also bonus extra credit projects. Easy A.
AI - Shitty class, already took final, don't have grade yet, looking for probably in the B~A range. Maybe C if I got raped.
Networking - Shitty class, currently sitting at about a 64~65%, final is worth 30% of the grade, can't get an A because of minus grade bullshit. (93+ is an A, 90-92 is an A-. THIS IS NOT THE PURPOSE OF MINUS GRADES. Minus grades are supposed to be like, 89-90, maybe 91, they shouldn't be fucking screwing up everyone's gpa -_-) So yeah, 73+ for a C means I need like a 33% on the final for a C, 66% for a B, 99% for an A. Probably looking at a B/B-/B+ depending on how shitty the final is today. Honestly wouldn't care much if I ended up with a C+ or a C. eh

If i show up to class with a ti-89 and it isn't explicitly allowed by the professor, its an instant trip to a 0 for the class and getting kicked out D:

My school allows TI-89's <_< assuming the class allows calculators at all, most don't.

I run on quarters so I've actually been done for a month now, (started new quarter already)

    Software Engineering - B
    Calculus III - B
    Chemistry I - A
    Chemistry Lab - A
    Professional Communication - B

Worked out to be a 3.294 putting my gpa at a 3.1. Our school only does full letter grades (I had 88's in two of my B classes) and I end up getting boned from that but oh well.

In my experience 89's are allowed in class, but you cant use them on a test, whereas anything less is fine. Which for any kind of integration is just as bad, make it a definite integral and check your results, the 83s will work them.

On the not going to class bit, if you can do it, more power to you. I can't. Force of habit from fear of reverting back to being a terrible student like in hs or secondary education round 1. The classes that make attendance a requirement are kind of an oddity. If you aren't attending class, then grades will show that, unless you just happened to be that brilliant.

Haha yeah, as long as you pass your defense you're all good.

Let's see, I just finished my first semester of my second degree, this time in Economics, with a few electives needed. Havn't got my grades back yet (just finished my last exam on Tuesday) but here are my predictions
Principals of Microeconomics: A-, didn't like the prof and I felt like many of the test questions were rooted in puzzling out the semantics and logic of the question than really applying course theory.

Principals of Macroeconomics: A/A-, liked the course and prof, enjoy Macroecon much more than the micro stuff.

Economietrics 245: Descriptive Stats and Probability: I'm hoping for a B- to A, but this was a hell of a hard course for me since I haven't done any math in nearly 10 years.

Intro to Public Admin: B+, shitty, shitty online class. Pretty much paid $450 to read a $120 textbook and do some crappy assignments.

Research Methods for Political Science: A or A+, loved this class, great prof (even agreed to write me a letter of recommendation if I chose to do an MPA, something I was trying to do instead of a second degree but couldn't get any recommendations from my old profs), and I'm extremely happy that I got an A or better on a 45 page research design proposal project that took months of work.

98% in Intro to Chinese, failed my math class because the Dept. Head wouldn't let me drop it when the teacher fucked my grades up.

Next semester, moving to 4 classes. Medieval History, CINS, English 101, and retaking Math.

Just got out of my organic chem class. I think I killed that shit. I don't think I got the 96 needed to get a B, but hell, I was worried about passing at this point (Wouldn't be if he didn't drop lowest test score. Lol I thought our test was on a Thursday that week. I walk on Tuesday and he starts handing out papers. Needless to say that was my lowest test score, at 34). I'm confident I at least got a B on the exam though.

    M150 Italian II - B+
    K300 Statistics - C
    C341 Organic Chemistry I- lolFail

Ochem was just no good to me at all. Granted I didn't put forth the effort that I should have. That kinda goes all around really. Shoulda had As in everything no problem. But next semester I'm gonna get my shit together and get some better grades. Taking the following:
    C341 Ohcem1 again lol
    M200 Italian III
    P201 Physics I
    L321 Immunology

Relying on a TI-89 is weaksauce. Derivatives and integrals are easy to calculate, unless your professors are stupid and expect you to have all the special cases memorized. (Fuck you MAT - Calc 1)

Computer Science II, B+; going to talk to the professor to find out wtf happened. Shit shows I got a 50% on the final exam and I can't understand how I could have possibly gotten that many questions wrong.

Electrical Circuit Analysis, B; I fucked up once or twice, could have possibly gotten a B+ or A- if I did the portfolio.

Microelectronics B, B; pretty happy with this. Class was hard as fuck.

Still waiting on Finite Mathematical Structures and Signals and Systems.

Bullcrap. I almost got a C this semester, which would get me kicked out of grad school

    Undergrad:
    Chemistry II -- C
    Quantum Physics -- A

I can't believe I even got a C in chem. I never went to class except on exam day and never studied for exams. On one exam I just guessed all B's...and got a B.

As for quantum, I can't believe they even made me take undergraduate quantum. Three years ago a professor gave me the exams for graduate quantum physics, which I took and passed. Then I proceeded to do solid state physics research for the physics department for three freakin' years. After all that they still make me take quantum on the undergraduate level? Seriously?

I never went to that class either, except for on exam days.

    Graduate:
    Real Analysis -- B
    Complex Analysis -- B
    Numerical Methods -- B+

In real analysis, the homework was worth 50% of the grade and there was only three...so not turning in one of the homeworks meant I couldn't get an A. Would have gotten an A if it wasn't for that one assignment I missed. I got pretty much a perfect score on everything I did in there.

As for numerical methods, that should have been a B- at most. I was expecting to get a C and then be kicked out of the graduate school. I have no clue how that became a B+. I really didn't know what I was doing in that class. I did horribly on the midterm and did pretty bad on the first few projects despite putting tons of time and effort into them. He wont even tell me what I got on the midterm because it was that bad. Everyone else in the class got their grade back, so I presumably did significantly worse than the entire class, which has never happened to me in a math class before. I think my professor felt sorry for me or something. I honestly wouldn't have been the least bit surprised if my grade had come out to a D. I'm scared to ask about it because I'm scared he's going to see the B and be like "Oh shoot I hit the wrong button" or something.

Complex Variables was at 7:45am. I'll never make that mistake again.

I AM OFFICIALLY DONE WITH BOTH OF MY UNDERGRADS NOW!

Edit: No wait, I still have to finish up my foreign language requirements. Because apparently you're not a true physicist unless you know sign language. I hope I can switch to Dutch, but I'd have to either take dutch I and II this spring/summer or test out (or graduate a semester or two late). There's no way I'm testing out or graduating late.

At least attempt to test out. Assuming it's just a written multiple-choice test, pick whatever language you know the best, cram for a couple weeks to get the basics down, and give it a shot - if you're good at standardized tests you might be able to bullshit your way out of at least the first semester of it - not sure how high you have to test to meet the requirement. Better than taking another class if you don't care about it.
