Prolly unimportant, but

Caught the last IMAX 3D screening of this. Was kinda disappointed. I guess The Avengers really set the bar high for what Marvel's movies can do. But then again, Whedon wasn't involved, so yeah.
Spoiler: show
I'll prolly watch it again when it's on bluray/Netflix. Maybe.

pretty sure realism flew out the window in the first iron man, buddy. its a fucking movie.

I actually felt bored during the movie. 8/10. Fake spoilers were better.
Entertaining but a pretty meh movie. If Pepper had actually died it would have been much better. "Clean slate" was dumb as fuck.
lol at the comically in your face FIOS ad placement at the end.
I am not a comics reader and thus had no opinion/knowledge on the stories depicted in IM3 beforehand.
I just saw this and I thought it was really fun. Not as good as Avengers, but definitely not boring.
I think for me the Tony Stark character's sarcasm and snark really makes movies that include him more enjoyable for me than other action movies. Comedy (especially of the sarcasm variety) has always attracted me more than straight-up drama or action.
So I would have to say that I really liked this movie, but I had no thoughts beforehand from reading the comics so that could be a major reason I liked it more than others did...

The product placement was quite annoying and obvious. I usually don't mind since it helps pay the bills, but at least try a little harder then that. All around the movie just doesn't live up to the rest of the marvel (sans fox owned) movies. I definitely won't be buying this one on bluray; probably won't even bother torrenting it, it was just that forgettable.
You have to watch the Iron Man films more as a comedy than a serious Sci-Fi comic based film, if more people in this thread just watched it as a film and stopped comparing it to the comic book arcs you'd have enjoyed it alot more and suffered alot less butthurt.
Or just enjoy them as their own phenomenon?
Just because the movies don't follow the comic books to the letter doesn't invalidate the nature of either medium.
Saw today, was fun. Pepper dying would have been serious as hell, not really the tone Ironman has set. People take their movies too seriously.
Good fun, wish the theater was less crowded.
We had tickets to a crammed theater but they moved us to a not-so-crammed one. Still had a group of high school kids sitting behind us talking throughout the first half.
I'm not even comparing it to comic book arcs. It's not that it was a bad Iron Man movie, or a bad comic book movie, I just thought it was a bad movie period.
And yes, there have been comedic moments in the films, but no one ever let up with the god damn wise cracks no matter what the situation was in this one. It worked for Kiss Kiss Bang Bang (Shane Black's last movie with Downey Jr), but that did not work at all for this movie. It never felt suspenseful in the slightest.
