Really enjoyed the movie, despite a bunch of problems that people have mentioned already:

    Spoiler: show
The Mandarin twist annoyed me as well, but not because I care about how it's done in comic books but because I was really excited to see more of the badass Ben Kingsley. That never really happened. Even though he was very funny in the role.

Was also hoping for Extremis Iron man, that never happened either.

And the Clean Slate was dumb as shit, especially since he's worried about being able to protect his loved ones so he goes ahead and destroys all his weapons that can keep them safe? Wat.

Other than all that, it was still a really fun movie.

I would hate to see Avengers 2 not have RDJ as Iron man. I cant think of a better person to play the role.

I can't stand recasting of major roles typically, the recast from Terrance Howard to Don Cheadle I didnt mind so much.

I thought destroying his suits was more of a Christmas present to Pepper, the ultimate symbolic way to say "I'm going to focus on us more". Considering how fast he must have been cranking out suits to make all of those, though, pretty sure it's a trifling matter to him to build more. So yeah it was kinda dumb to blow them ALL up... but it's not like he can't build a couple more for emergencies (this time with stealth cloaking, perhaps!)

The way I am head-canoning this is that after the Avengers Stark started trying to make an armor for EVERYTHING. Deep space? Deep space armor? Under water? Under water armor. It was a coping mechanism for someone who, at the end of the film, found himself in a situation he could not control. Stark is at his best when he is in control, and when he isn't in control, well, he panics. At the end of the film he realized he was overreacting to the entire thing and having an army of armors was just dumb. Iron Man was becoming his life. He had to take it back. Now, this doesn't mean he can't become Iron Man when needed. It just means that he isn't going to try to do everything and save everything. Remember when people were asking him about The Mandarin and his response was to basically take it all on himself? Not healthy.

Seemed a little silly he was trying to go at Killian in close-range combat when it was obvious he couldn't really do damage. Why didn't he just fly up to think of something, or use all of the suits together? His suits were getting torn up one by one. Pretty minor complaint, I suppose.

This was exactly what I thought.

I thoroughly enjoyed the movie, but that may be due to the fact the last and probably only comic i've read in the last ten years was the Civil War series.

I think it's a better movie for those with little to no comic knowledge. I thought it was decent, but it could have been soooo much more. The Mandarin & Extremis disappointed me so much.

I wouldn't say disappointed me a great deal, but only a little bit let down.

Even knowing what I know about the character and adapted stories, it was still a great film.

Suit straps itself to bad guy. Explodes. Guy doesn't die.

Pepper throws little suit explosive at bad guy. Explodes. Dies.

So much inconsistent shit and plotholes throughout the movie. That being said, it was fun to watch, but it was really quite disappointing.

i think it had to do with the fact that his body was already heavily damaged from the first explosion and hadn't healed up completely. Pepper's little trick just pushed it past the point of no return.

The suit he was using, Mark 42, wasn't battle ready, and that had been stated several times during the movie. That and the fact that Killian's speed and stength had been increased so many times over, the first time i TRIED to use range to his advantage, killian closed the distance and beat the brakes off him anyway.

I think he used at least 2 other non-42 suits against Killian and lost them. Yes, there was no way he could've won if he stayed on the ground/platforms. That's why I was wondering why didn't he just fly up in the air to at least buy himself some time. Maybe have all the suits gather round and just blast Killian or something.

Finally saw it. Iron Man 3? More like Butt Fart 3! Robert Downey Jr.'s constant improv finally killed it for me, I'm done with him. When it got to the final scene I was tired of the movie overall. Ben Kingsley actually became a high point for me after the reveal.
