I humbly ask you, readers of BG, both those who are simply voices and those who work for SE to help right this great injustice. Many players consider various lights negatives, in particular ruby though at times I have been adverse to amber. However, in the quest line, which all players are expected to complete: You gain abyssites that increase your ruby and amber light. I would absolutely love a way to throw out or temporarily deactivate these as I often consider them penalties instead of buffs(as I'm sure many other players do). It's not your style to add a permanent penalty to one's character, please at least think about it. Thanks very much for the time spent reading this.

I don't think I've ever agreed with you more, the bullshit abyssites that enhance ruby (mainly the one you're forced to get while doing quest bosses) have been one of the biggest fucking annoyances for me lately.

I, too, humbly ask that we be allowed to deactivate or (permanently?) dispose of Abyssites that affect those accursed ruby lights. Many a time have I been frustrated, longing to attain key items.. only to be greeted by the woes of a faint pearlescent glow. Please Square Enix, attend to my needs. I beg of you.

Please implement a quest whose reward is a permanent Abyssite that gives full ruby lights upon entry because the red chests remind me of Kingdom Hearts and I liked Kingdom Hearts. Also don't unban Tsuko, he's not argumentative enough.

Umm... lol much? If your group cannot get enough time chests, especially post update where the frequency has obviously increased, find a new group or do what I do, boot the slow/afk retards. Hell, if someone speaks what I feel is retard, I kick them if I get party lead no questions asked.

Or this, exp with your ls once a week... five jobs at 90 and only one left to merit that I burned to ninety (bst) and my work schedule limits my play (hi to you Air Force weather forecasting) and hopefully avoiding the retard scenario. A number of solutions exist rather than gimping something. Usually, I find problems more in the people and less in the game mechanics.

I know the above is slightly incoherent, just had my coffee, but deal with the rampant stupid people in this game first before you cry about ruby lights in abyssea.

This isn't about EXPing, you dumb fuck. It's about getting more red chests than you're supposed to, when going for key items.

Having said that, this is a silly thread. Has it been proven that the abyssites enhance your lights (not just tier, but rates as well), or was this just a thread to try and get Tsuko unbanned? In my experience, red chests were always more common than the rest, and I only just got my first red chest abyssite a week ago.

I've never seen an increase rate in a particular chest due to abyssite, just overall chest rate with fortune. I'm 100% sure the abyssites add a chance to receive a higher tier chest of that particular kind, and it's plainly obvious to see when tri-boxing mules who are missing the abyssite. But I've seen no evidence linking the abyssite to spawn rate. From my experience it doesn't affect their rate at all.

This makes sense. A few days ago we went into Altepa and immediately went to conflux 7 and pulled the tiger NM. We killed it and it dropped a large gold box with Dragua's pop Key Item inside. We had not farmed any lights previous to pulling the NM and the tiger, the only thing we had pulled after entering, was killed with a melee hit from our MNK. We were all wtf'ing and figured it was because we had all recently gone 9/9 on quest bosses and gotten Ivory Abyssite of Destiny.

Edit: In my experience the red chest abyssite actually do increase % of drop rate of red chests. They obviously add something to your red count since if you have none of the red abyssites you can't proc red chests w/o red lights, unless my alt mule last night managed to spawn only blues/golds for 60minutes purely on luck.
